Job Vacancy: Group Head Procurement
Main Functions
The Group Head β Procurement is responsible for overseeing and managing all procurement activities across the organization.
Key objectives include:
* Ensuring compliance with company rules and oil & gas industry regulations (JOA, PSC/PSA).
* Delivering efficient, cost-effective purchasing.
* Leading procurement teams and driving strategic savings.
* Ensuring proper execution of procurement processes from requisition to payment across all business units.
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Compliance: Ensure the purchasing process aligns with internal company rules (Code of Conduct) and all applicable laws (JOA, PSC/PSA, and local laws).
* Legal Protection: Apply Company General Terms and Conditions for equipment and service purchases to prevent legal liabilities.
* Strategy & Leadership: Implement procurement strategies across teams and provide oversight to units in multiple locations.
* Negotiation: Lead complex, high-value negotiations regarding commercial terms, pricing, contract awards, and amendments.
* Coordination: Maintain close coordination with user departments to resolve procurement issues timely.
* Sourcing: Oversee vendor selection processes, including RFQs, e-RFQs, and tenders, ensuring transparency.
* Risk Management: Mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, supplier performance, and contract execution.
Skills and Qualifications
* Education: Bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Experience: * Minimum of 10β15 years in procurement, preferably within the oil & gas industry.
* At least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Technical Knowledge: * Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
* Good understanding of oil & gas regulatory frameworks (JOA, PSC/PSA).
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and e-sourcing tools.
* Certification: Professional certification (e.g., CIPS) is an added advantage.
