I lived without one of these bad boys for at least 10 years (crazy, right?!), but now? I can't even begin to tell you how much time it saves me on polishing and finishing. Total game-changer. 🙌 My absolute favorite attachment? The scratch erasers - especially the medium grit! I’m using it here to remove the patina from the brass part of our bangle. People were asking how I got such a high polish on the inside of my most recent piece, especially with a bezel in place. I used the 3M radial bristle discs. These are the 3” version and that makes them soft and flexible. I worked my way from Red (220) to Blue (400) to Peach (6 micron), and ended with Green (1 micron). You can use any size, so you could put these on your flexshaft or polishing arbor, but here I have used my JoolTool. #jooltool #polishing #3m #radialdiscs #howtopolish #jewelrymaking #metalsmithmelissa #melissamuir @aniejooltool @jooltoolusa @3m

Spring cleaning- in March? Yes, anytime I get the inspiration to clean, I take it. . I find that clutter and buildup on horizontal surfaces are really a design killer. I also have a new tool- specifically a Jooltool! I’m waiting for my dust collector so a new space is needed to be freed up and fit into my studio’s “cockpit” design. . Most things are within reach by just sliding my chair. The low table with all the tools in jars is my metal clay station. My dad and I built this table together and I think that he would be excited to see how I am using it. . Turn to the right and you will find my jewelers bench and my new home for the JoolTool. It fits perfectly on my removable GRS shelf that also adjusts up and down. . Turn to the right and you will find tool storage and miscellaneous items like the ten gem storage boxes that I spent two days organizing and pricing. Next door is my Hoosier, storing sewing supplies and providing a spot for my clay dehydrator. . Turn right again and you will see my soldering station and kiln. I share this space with my husband’s passion- N scale trains. His layout has been assembled, in place and cannot be removed without some destruction. I’m ready for something new.
