KEjournalctl is the built-in log viewer for systemd-based Linux systems.
Instead of manually searching through flat log files with grep or cat, journalctl queries the systemd journal directly. It filters by service, user, time range, and even regex patterns in a single command.
Every investigation starts with logs. SSH brute-force attempts, unauthorized sudo usage, suspicious root activity → journalctl surfaces all of it with the right flags.
