Steel-mace workouts have been a big part of my training for a couple years now. For the first years of training with the mace - I made that my main supplemental workout for BJJ, but lately I’ve been using an abridged mace as the warm up as a warm up for kettlebell training. I’ve been asked a ton on this - and my training regiment breakdown has looked like: Wake up (before the kids) Foam rolling, stretching, and physical therapy while doing my vocal warm ups Mace warm ups (a specific order of exercises) Kettlebells (MTWTF) Protein shake Breakfast Hot yoga (MT TF) Protein shake Vocal + guitar training on twitch BJJ (4 days a week) Lunch Protein shake Dinner Protein shake We can get more into specific details of each if y’all would like as well. I can’t quite believe it yet but I am officially a certified @rkc_uk Instructor WHAAATTTTT! Over the weekend I passed every test to qualify at the highest & most prestigious in Kettlebell certification and I couldnt be happier! genuinely cried my eyes out with happiness (when no one was looking 👀) haha! Just ask Sid how much I trained for this & the stress of getting to this point.. something I’ve wanted ever since I got into Kettlebell training! Can’t believe just 3 yrs into my own training I’ve developed a passion to share & teach more about kb’s and how much of a powerhouse they can be in your training ALONE or alongside 😜 HUGE appreciation moment for @the.spartan.project @juno.fitness for your coaching & support in getting me to this moment! Honestly on cloud 9! It’s been a while since I set myself a huge goal like this in a field that I am new to.. just goes to show it’s never too late you know. If you have something you’re passionate about.. do the work and go get it 💪🏽 one major thing I’ve learned from this intense weekend is to believe in ME.. i’m always second guessing myself but NO MORE! Here’s how to do it… Perform four rounds of the circuit below: 👉 Kettlebell front squat x8-12 👉 Kettlebell single-arm row x8-12 (each side) 👉 Kettlebell deadlift to high pull x8-12 👉 Kettlebell half-kneeling press x8-12 (each side) 👉 Kettlebell swing x45 seconds ‘Kettlebell training is one of the best ways to build functional strength, power and mobility,’ Johnson says. ‘Unlike traditional strength training, kettlebells move with you, forcing your core and stabilizers to engage as you would while carrying shopping, playing with your kids or running outdoors on uneven terrain. ‘The offset weight improves balance and coordination, while explosive moves like swings and snatches build power and endurance. ‘These exercises are not only great for building full-body strength, but they’re also beneficial for runners as some of them are unilateral [one-sided], which can help correct imbalances in the body as well as strengthen the core.’
