California roll… doesn’t have to be that complicated 🤭 I was craving a California roll the other day, so of course I had to make it my way using the rice paper method I’ve been obsessed with lately. And honestly, it worked even better here. California rolls are usually a bit tricky to make at home, especially with the rice on the outside. Spreading the rice evenly, using a mat, wrapping it with plastic… it’s a whole process. Even cutting them is hard — you usually have to wrap the roll and slice it one by one because everything gets so sticky. And handling masago can get messy really fast. But this way just makes so much more sense to me. The rice paper kind of wraps everything together, so the masago stays in place instead of going everywhere. It’s way less messy, easier to roll, and you still get really clean, satisfying bites. Same flavors, just a different format… but somehow even better. In Korea, we love pairing sushi with a creamy sauce, so I made a wasabi mayo for that creamy + wasabi kick, added a little honey for balance, and my husband really loved this combo. I have so many more kimbap ideas I want to share, so if you’re into trying things a little differently while keeping what works, follow along 🤍 💚California Roll-Inspired Kimbap (Mini Rice Paper Version) Makes 4 mini rolls -Rice 1½ cups cooked white rice 2 Tbsp rice vinegar 1 Tbsp sugar 1 tsp salt Sesame seeds - Fillings 1 lb imitation crab, shredded 2 Tbsp Kewpie mayo 1 large English cucumber, julienned 1 avocado, sliced Masago -.Wasabi Mayo (Optional) 4 Tbsp Kewpie mayo 1 Tbsp wasabi ¾ Tbsp lemon juice 1½ Tbsp honey - Wrapping Gim (seaweed), cut in half Rice paper Instructions 1. Prep Season rice with rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and sesame seeds Mix crab with mayo Prep remaining fillings 2. Assemble Place half sheet of gim, shiny side down Dip 1 rice paper in water and place on the bottom Add rice, crab, cucumber, avocado, and masago 3. Roll Fold rice paper up first, then roll tightly with gim Seal with a little water 4. Finish Slice and serve with wasabi mayo #californiaroll #kimbap

Gimbap without rice | Cabbage series Ep.5 Cabbage Gimbap 🧡 Ingredients A handful of cabbage 2 eggs 1 can of tuna 1/2 block of tofu sriracha 💙 Directions 1. In a bowl, mix a handful of shredded cabbage with 2 beaten eggs. 2. Pour it onto a heated pan and spread it out thinly. Cook on low heat. 3. Set aside and let it cool. 4. In the meantime, mix 1 can of tuna, drained tofu, and sriracha. 5. Place the egg layer on top of the seaweed, add the tuna mixture, and roll it up. Salchicha, queso, huevo… y listo 🌭🧀🥚 🍽️Para 2 personas ▫️Ingredientes Kimbap: - 600 g de arroz cocido - 2 cucharadas de aceite de sésamo - 2 cucharadas de semillas de sésamo - 5 piezas de salchicha - 10 lonchas de queso para sandwich - 3 uds de huevos - una pizca de sal Para gochujang mayo: - 100 g de mayonesa - 1 cucharadita de gochujang Para la salsa de soja: - 1 cucharada de soja - 1 cucharada de agua ▫️Paso a paso 1. Mezcla el arroz caliente con aceite de sésamo, sal y semillas de sésamo. 2. Corta las salchichas por la mitad. 3. Fríelas hasta que se doren en una sartén. 4. En un bol bate tres huevos con una pizca de sal. 5. Pon una primera capa fina en la sartén. 6. Cuando empiece a cuajar, enróllala de un extremo al otro. 7. Empuja el rollo a un lado de la sartén y añade un poco más de huevo. Cuando empiece a cuajar, vuelve a enrollar. 8. Así hasta terminar con la mezcla. 9. Cuando la tortilla esté hecha, déjala enfriar un poco y córtala en tiras del tamaño de la salchicha. 10. Corta las láminas de alga nori por la mitad. 11. Extiende el arroz hasta la mitad del alga, y pon un poco más en el extremo para que se pegue el rollito. 12. Coloca una loncha de queso encima del arroz y añade la salchicha y el huevo encima. 13. Enróllalo y repite hasta acabar con todos los ingredientes. 14. Para la mayonesa de gochujang simplemente mezcla mayonesa y gochujang. 15.
