⬇️ Save & Share this reel if you’re visiting Laos this year ❤️ Here are few things that might help you with planning 🙌 1.Visa on Arrival & E-Visa – Most nationalities can get a visa on arrival, but applying for an e-visa in advance can save time at the airport. 2.Cash is King – ATMs are limited outside major cities, and many places don’t accept cards, so carry enough cash (preferably Lao Kip). 3.Slow Travel is Best – Transport can be slow and unpredictable, so plan for extra travel time between destinations. You can use @12go_com for your intercity travel. 4.Respect the Culture – Dress modestly, especially at temples, and always take off your shoes before entering. 5.Be Cautious with Connectivity – Wi-Fi can be unreliable in rural areas, so get a local SIM card for better internet access. UNITEL provides the best service. 6.Street Food is Great but Be Selective – Lao street food is delicious, but stick to busy stalls to avoid food-related issues. 7.Beware of Scams – Some tuk-tuk drivers and tour operators may overcharge tourists; always negotiate prices beforehand. Make sure to compare prices of tours with different operators to see the estimated cost, you can also book your tours via @getyourguide 8. Rail Tickets can get sold out fast because there are lot of Chineese tourists. #18 ALL ABOUT LAOS I spent 3 weeks in Laos, and 100% I’d love to go back to explore the lesser known regions. The problem with Laos is that the touristy bits are extremely touristy, and the moment you step out of the done & dusted, there is plenty of adventure on offer. And the food! Absolutely incredible. I had the best meal of my life outside India in Laos, and I have travelled enough. Food is Laos is right up there along with Thailand & Vietnam as one of the best in the world. What nobody told us about travelling to Laos! 🇱🇦 1. If you’re getting a visa on arrival at the airport, you’ll need to fill out TWO forms! We only saw one at first glance, filled it out, and then had to wait an extra hour in line to fill out a second. Totally our fault, but just know you have to fill out both even though they are basically the same thing! 2. Vang Vieng… besides having the cheapest hot air balloons/paramotoring, & the lagoons there wasn’t much else to do here?? It didn’t help that Keeg was sick most of our time here but honestly we were kinda bored. 🫢 3. Human trafficking is a HUGE issue here, and it’s eye-opening to see how prevalent it is. Definitely something to be aware of when travelling here! 4. Vientiane is seriously underrated! Most people skip it, but we had such a great time exploring the city & wished we had more time here. Overall, we did enjoy our time in Laos, just some things we wish we knew before going there! 🇱🇦🫶🏽 Join us as we backpack around the world on a budget!
