The new interactive exhibition is located on the 4th floor of the Library (permanent exhibition). 📍2313 Red River St, Austin, TX (UT campus) ✨ FYI: A new temporary exhibit What We Bring To The Table: Tales of History & Home, opens April 11 with a big celebration featuring live music, @chilantro catering, art activities, giveaways, and more. Located on the University of Texas campus, the library is packed with exhibits that bring one of the most transformative decades in American history to life. From the Civil Rights Act to the Space Race to the turbulent Vietnam War years, President Lyndon B. Johnson’s legacy is complex, and this museum doesn’t shy away from it. 🤯 One of the highlights? A 7/8th-scale replica of the Oval Office as it appeared during LBJ’s presidency (with his real desk!) You can also listen in on actual phone calls he made from that very office - like conversations with Martin Luther King Jr., Jackie Kennedy, and other key figures of the 1960s. There’s also a moving exhibit dedicated to Lady Bird Johnson and her environmental and cultural contributions, including a display of her original office that she used post-Presidency, along with personal items.
