ITAll jokes aside, here’s a fun fact 🤭
I used to loveeeee getting my nails done. If I still had them, you bet I’d be at the salon all the time! 💅🏼 It made me feel so pretty, you know?
But then life threw me a curveball, and I lost a part of myself. It made me realise something really important. I used to believe that without those perfect nails, I wouldn’t feel beautiful 💔
I’m all for boosting confidence, but I’ve learned the hard way not to overvalue physical appearance over what truly matters — what’s on the inside.
Because things change. Skin gets wrinkles, stretch marks can appear, weight goes up and down, hair can get thiner, and like me, even part of your body can be lost ❤️🩹
True beauty isn’t just about how perfect your nails look or what’s on the outside. It’s about how you feel about yourself deep down. It’s about strength, kindness, and loving yourself, flaws and all.
Today, I stand here not worrying about what my hands look like, but feeling incredible because of the love and confidence I have inside. I know who I am and what I have to offer. Maybe it’s not the prettiest set of nails, hands, or legs, but I can confidently say I’m proud of who I am.
Let’s celebrate our uniqueness and remember that real beauty comes from within. ✨
Don’t let your mind trick you into overvaluing physical appearance over what truly matters — what’s on the inside.

CAA few weeks ago my friends at @ottobock asked me if I wanted to do the @statesmancap10k in Austin, TX. My initial reaction was “Sure… why not? This can be my 1 hard thing I do as an amputee this year since I’ve never done a 10K before” but little did I know that 1 week after I agreed to participate that I would discover my WHY…
So while attending the @tirrmemorialhermann Amputee Support Clinic event (thanks @kristin_reeves_pt my amazing PT & @vin_vrajabhumi my awesome PM&R doc) I got to hear the powerful testimony of 17 year old @ava_solizzz who just became an above-knee-amputee just a few months ago due to her battle with osteosarcoma cancer 🎗️ Her vulnerability, courage, and faith lit a fire inside of me that afternoon that I knew was going to propel me in that 10K.
Unbeknownst to Ava and her family, whenever I approached the last mile and a half of the race, I decided to remove my Genium X4 prosthetic leg 🦿 and finish the 10K using only my forearm crutches 🩼 🩼 in honor of Ava and where she is currently at in her limb loss journey.
What I’ve learned in my 2.5 years as an amputee is that there are TOUGH days and there are BEAUTIFUL days and oftentimes the TOUGHEST of days can have the MOST BEAUTIFUL endings, and that’s exactly what I got to experience this past Sunday 🙏🏻
