IMBesides my lamp design, this project is what I’ve been working on for the past months. The wall shelving is designed to enhance organization in the entryway. Four panels can be hooked in to create a neutral, even surface for larger decorative pieces, or flipped to act as small pods, each with its own distinct color.
It started as an exploration of how design can improve daily life for elderly people, focusing on visibility and habit formation. I ended up with a system that could be valuable for anyone, where shape, simplicity, and color make interacting with the furniture a pleasant and intuitive experience. The distinct tones create a visual and memorable focal point in the home, helping to associate certain colors with objects (keys, wallet) or even with individual family members.
Colors and shapes in furniture can be powerful tools, not just to support those with impairments but to make everyday routines more joyful for everyone.
