*not my recipie, got from ‎⁨@AverieCooks-ue5gl⁩ from Pinterest Vanilla donuts with vanilla glaze -1 cup all-purpose flour -6 tablespoons white sugar -1 teaspoon baking powder -¼ teaspoon cinnamon -½ teaspoon salt -6 tablespoons buttermilk -1 egg -½ teaspoon vanilla extract -1 tablespoon butter, melted Glaze -½ cup powdered sugar -½ teaspoon vanilla extract -1-2 teaspoons milk Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees F and lightly grease or cooking-spray a donut pan (or muffin tin).In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.Add buttermilk, egg, vanilla and melted butter. Whisk or stir to combine.Use a pastry bag fitted with a large round tip (or a Ziploc bag with a corner cut off) to pipe the batter into a 6-donut pan. Or just be extra neat and do this with a spoon, which is what I did.Bake 8 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven, until donuts spring back when touched or until dough is set. Donuts will not be golden brown, but should be springy. (I always underbake my baked goods but in my oven these took 10-11 minutes to set up)Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan, about 5 minutes. While donuts are baking or cooling, make the glaze by combining powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and liquid of your choice. Add the water or milk, one teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency is achieved.Dip the donuts into the glaze while warm (or cool).Add sprinkles or other extras at end, if desired. #momsofinstagram #momlife #bakewithme #bakedgoods #foodiesofinstagram

Why are donuts so hard to make? Because the internet lies. A good donut needs to be: - Light - Fluffy - Airy - With that soft white ring (you know the one) And the whole thing comes down to: 1. Proofing (under = dense, over = sad) 2. Fry temp (hot = burned, cool = oily) Right now I’m testing: 1.5 hour proof • 345°F • 1:30 per side. Is it the magic recipe? No. It’s just what’s working best… for now. Drop your donut tips. Or just tell me I’m not alone.

Donut 101! There is nothing that beats a donut fresh out of the fryer, so testing this was my dream! Still a little warm, with that crusty glaze?! Oh my. Anyways, you should make these. The dough is easy to work with, and the final donut is so light and fluffy. I add milk powder and diastatic malt powder which I detail a little more in the written recipe but feel free to skip them. It’s a pretty straight forward dough, the only place you can go wrong is not proofing them for long enough, or undercooking your filled donut as these need a smidge longer to make sure the centre is cooked. Full recipe with lots and lots of info is on my website for free, just hit the link in my bio and enjoy!

Adding whipped cream to these vanilla baked donuts is an easy way to guarantee a fluffy and flavorful finish! Recipe makes 12 BAKED VANILLA DONUTS 1 ¾ cups (225 g) AP flour 1/2 cup (100 g) white sugar 1/3 cup (70 g) light brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 3/4 teaspoon fine salt 1/8 teaspoon baking soda 2/3 cup (160 g) cold heavy cream 2 large cold eggs, beaten 1/3 cup (75 g) vegetable oil 1 tablespoon cold water 1 tablespoon vanilla GLAZE 3 tablespoons (42 g) unsalted butter, melted 3 tablespoons hot water ¼ teaspoon vanilla Small pinch fine salt 1 1/2 cups (180 g) confectioners sugar Sprinkles for topping 1. Preheat oven to 425*F and place a rack in the center. Lightly spray two 6 ring donuts pan with nonstick spray. 2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together all of the dry ingredients and whisk to combine. 3. In a medium bowl whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add the whipped cream, beaten eggs, oil, water and vanilla to the dry ingredients and stir together with a spatula just until combined. 4. Divide the batter between 12 donut cups (each portion takes about 60 grams of batter.) I like to pipe the batter into the pans for more control. 5. Tap the pans on the counter 3-4 times. Bake pans side by side in the center of the oven for 9-11 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. 6. Cool the donuts in the pan for 5 minutes then turn onto a rack and cover with a clean tea towel to cool completely, about 30 minutes. 7. Make the glaze by combining the melted butter, hot water, vanilla and salt in a cereal bowl with a whisk. Add the powdered sugar and whisk until smooth, adding a few drops of water to adjust the consistency to a dippable texture. Dip the tops of the donuts and immediately add sprinkles. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2 days. #donuts #bakeddonuts #brunch
