If you suspect lipedema, this is your gentle nudge to stop chasing one “magic fix” and start looking at the whole picture. Lipedema is not just about fat. It’s a connective tissue, inflammatory, lymphatic, hormonal, and nervous system condition. Which means healing has to be layered. Here are 6 foundational areas to start exploring 👇 🔥 INFLAMMATION 🔥 You want to reduce anything that causes inflammation first. Don’t focus on weight loss or extreme restriction, but reduce processed foods and alcohol (sorry!) and focus on whole foods. Progress > Perfection. 💩 GUT HEALTH 💩 Your gut influences inflammation, hormones, immune signaling, and detox pathways. If you’re not pooping, you aren’t ridding your body of toxins and excess estrogen that’s fueling the inflammation loop. 💧 LYMPH FLOW 💧 Lipedema tissue thrives in stagnant lymph. Gentle daily movement, breathing, manual lymph work, vibration, and compression can all support better flow and reduce heaviness and tenderness. ⚠️ LIVER ⚠️ Your liver processes hormones, toxins, and metabolic waste. When it’s overwhelmed, symptoms can worsen. Get rid of toxic products on your body and around your house. 🕸️ FASCIA 🕸️ Fibrosis and fascial restriction change how tissue behaves and how fluid moves. This is why soft tissue work, myofascial release, vibration, and slow intentional movement matter. 🛌 SLEEP 💤 Sleep like it’s a prescription. Period. This vast network of vessels carries a clear fluid called lymph throughout the body. Lymph fluid brings nutrients to the cells and then the lymph fluid delivers cellular waste through the lymph nodes and into the bloodstream, which carries it to the kidneys, colon and lungs for elimination. This routine stimulates the lymphatic drainage which will boost your immune responses. The up-and-down bouncing and swinging movements work with the force of gravity to stimulate the movement of lymph fluid throughout the body, removing toxins and improving immunity.
