DE#MakingThings ♻️ Tackling an endlessly growing world of textiles and garments, textile artist @riskthrift (Brittany Risk) creates handmade and upcycled clothing with an unexpected twist. She’s an expert at the art of “interactive” clothing, garments and accessories embedded with playful little easter eggs like lighting, hidden pockets, movable pieces and more. “Most of my joy comes from figuring out how to make something interactive,” she says. “A rollerskate with laces you can tie up, car wheels that spin, doors that open, nutcrackers with mouths that move. It’s a really cool process of trial and error.” With one upcycled garment at a time, she transforms her secondhand textiles into something a bit unexpected — and a lot more fun.
