❌LONG STRETCHES PRE-RUN!! ✅Spending time downregulating your system and refueling with @corepower post run! # ad Prior to a workout the goal is to lubricate our joints, get the muscles primed for action and start increasing our HR. ❌Static stretches aren’t doing any of that for us! So if you love a good stretch, save it for when you finish the run. I’ve seen this help people also make time for what we absolutely know matters: ✅REFUELING! And if you don’t have time to stretch, cool grab your Core Power as your shower drink😆. I’ve done it! Great option to both recover and get in the protein no matter how busy I am. Taking that time to slow down post run helps facilitate recovery by shifting your nervous system from sympathetic (fight or flight) to parasympathetic (rest and digest). That’s important for your recovery and adaptation to the workout! Get the most out of your time! Despite it being mentally tough, but especially ‘physically’ tough today (yes, that’s what you get when you haven’t done your long runs 😅), I’m super proud 🤗 And I can truly tick off my main goal: to purely ENJOY this beautiful marathon 💛 Thanks to everyone for the support today, and to @poweradeeurope for the extra fuel (definitely needed that!!! 🔋🔥🔥) Hopefully the muscle soreness won’t be too bad tomorrow 😆🤞 #rotterdammarathon #PauseIsPower #partner #runnerslife #marathonlife

Die 48 Stunden nach dem Marathon sind wie nach einer Geburt. Du bereitest dich monatelang vor und trotzdem bist du nicht wirklich darauf vorbereitet. Dann ist das Ding geschafft, die Medaille hängt da… und du weißt erstmal nicht, wie du damit umgehen sollst. Körper: - Der Muskelkater schlägt erst nach zwei Tagen richtig zu. - Treppen? Rückwärts runter ist die Rettung. - Hunger? Alles rein. Dein Körper schreit nach Energie. - Schlaf, ich will Schlaf! Kopf: - Das Adrenalin rauscht ab. - Die Leere nach dem großen Moment trifft dich. - Und du fragst dich: „Was jetzt?“ „Wie geht es wieder?“ „war’s das jetzt?“ Genau wie nach einer Geburt: Es ist normal, dass man sich überfordert fühlt und trotzdem unendlich stolz ist. Und wann wieder laufen? 0–3 Tage: Ruhe, Spaziergänge, essen, trinken. 4–7 Tage: Leichte Bewegung, vielleicht mal 10–20 Minuten traben, wenn’s passt. 7–14 Tage: Easy Runs und etwas Mobility und Kraft mit dem eigenen Körpergewicht. 🔑 Goldene Regel: Wenn du unsicher bist, gönn dir einen Tag mehr. Du bist nicht kaputt. Du regenerierst. Bis zu 4 Wochen (nachweislich) Du bist jetzt Marathonläufer. 🏅 Speicher diesen Post für den Moment, wenn die Medaille glänzt, aber die Gefühle noch Achterbahn fahren. Not because I didn’t belong… but because that’s part of the sport. Some days you’re flying. Some days you’re surviving. And guess what? BOTH are running. This idea that walking = failure? That mindset is what actually doesn’t belong in this community. We all start somewhere. We all have bad days. We all hit walls. And sometimes… you walk through them. There is NOTHING to be ashamed of. Of course, we chase negative splits. We want strong finishes. We aim to run the whole thing. But real runners know: adjusting, slowing down, even walking… is part of the game. Running should build people up — not make them feel like they don’t belong. Let’s make this community what it’s supposed to be: inclusive, supportive, and real. If you’ve ever had to walk in a race… you’re still a runner.
