Proper nutrition during pregnancy is vital for supporting maternal health and optimal fetal development. Increased requirements for nutrients such as folate, iron, calcium, protein, and healthy fats help promote your baby’s brain development, bone formation, and overall growth, while also supporting maternal energy levels and well-being. In this video, we highlight a nutrient-rich food that can be a beneficial addition to a balanced pregnancy diet. When consumed in appropriate portions, it may help provide essential vitamins and minerals, support healthy fetal development, and contribute to improved maternal nutritional status. Including a variety of whole foods alongside adequate hydration further supports a healthy pregnancy. Nutritional needs may vary based on trimester, medical history, and individual requirements. It is recommended to consult your healthcare provider or a qualified nutrition professional before making significant dietary changes during pregnancy. Making informed dietary choices during pregnancy helps build a strong foundation for your baby’s growth and supports a healthier pregnancy outcome. #PregnancyNutrition #MaternalHealth #HealthyPregnancy #fblifestyle

Did you know that after 20 weeks, your sleeping position becomes a high-speed Circulatory Factor? It isn’t just about your comfort—it’s about the gravity affecting your baby’s life support. ✨ As your uterus grows, it becomes heavy enough to press down on a major blood vessel called the Inferior Vena Cava. 🧬🩺 [Image showing the weight of the uterus compressing the Vena Cava when lying on the back] If you sleep flat on your back, that pressure can restrict blood flow back to your heart, which in turn can reduce the high-speed oxygen and nutrient delivery to the placenta. This is why many women feel dizzy or breathless when lying flat! 🧪🩺 The clinical masterclass for sleep is Side-Sleeping (especially the left side). The "Left-Side" Advantage: Sleeping on your left side keeps the uterus off your liver and maximizes blood flow to the placenta. 🌊👶 Reducing Fetal Stress: It ensures the baby has the most "room" and the best oxygen supply for overnight growth. 🏗️✨ It’s a simple shift that acts as a powerful protector for your baby’s development while you rest. 🌿🩺 👉 Comment "SLEEP" and I’ll send you my Pregnancy Sleep & Support Map! #PregnancySleep #FetalHealth #SleepPositions #MaternalHealth #DrSelenaJenner

Proper nutrition during pregnancy is vital for supporting maternal health and optimal fetal development. Your body’s nutrient needs increase to support your baby’s brain development, bone formation, and overall growth, while also maintaining your energy and well-being. Key nutrients to prioritize: • Folate (600 mcg/day): Helps prevent neural tube defects. Found in leafy greens, lentils, and fortified grains. • Iron (27 mg/day): Supports higher blood volume and prevents anemia. Get it from lean meat, beans, and spinach. Pair with vitamin C for better absorption. • Calcium (1,000 mg/day): Builds fetal bones and teeth. Sources: dairy, fortified plant milk, almonds, sesame seeds. • Protein (75–100 g/day): Essential for fetal tissue and organ growth. Include eggs, yogurt, fish, poultry, and legumes. • Omega-3 DHA (200–300 mg/day): Critical for fetal brain and eye development. Found in salmon, sardines, chia seeds, and walnuts. • Vitamin D3 (600 IU/day): Aids calcium absorption and immune function. Get it from sunlight, fortified foods, and fatty fish. Best practices: Eat a colorful variety of whole foods, drink 8–10 cups of water daily, and limit caffeine to under 200 mg/day. Avoid raw/undercooked meat and fish, unpasteurized dairy, deli meats, and high-mercury fish like shark or swordfish. I’m Aaron the Social Worker, calling to dispute a hospital bill for a 32-year-old new mom. She arrived by EMS after giving birth in the community. Baby already born. Full-term. Uncomplicated. Yet her hospital bill includes: 💸 $3,600 — Labor & Delivery suite fee She never used the L&D suite. 💸 $1,800 — Trauma facility fee No trauma activation. No trauma care. That’s $5,400 added for services she did not receive. This is the part of healthcare most people never see: Charges appear. Explanations don’t. And new parents are expected to just accept it—while adjusting to life with a newborn. 👇 Drop a comment: Have you ever been billed for care that never happened? (Share this if you’ve seen hospital billing get out of control.) #HospitalBills #MaternalHealth #PostpartumCare #HealthcareCosts #MedicalBilling #InsuranceReality #NewMomLife #HealthcareAdvocacy #AaronTheSocialWorker

To take or not to take in pregnancy… that’s the question. Not everything “natural” is safe. Not everything “medication” is dangerous. The risk is not in asking. The risk is in assuming. Always ask. Always verify. Always protect your baby and yourself. Your peace of mind is part of prenatal care. Save this for later and share with a pregnant friend. #pregnancy #pregnancytips #highriskpregnancy #obgyn #maternalhealth pregnancyeducation pregnancyjourney

Three (almost four now?!) years later and some days still feel like the moment everything changed. Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) cracked my world open. And in some ways, I’m still putting the pieces back together. Still grieving the before. Still feeling like time stopped in places others won’t ever see. But here’s what’s also true: I didn’t stay frozen. I turned that grief into something more. And now, I share my story not for sympathy, but for awareness. So that you or the woman you love will recognize the signs. Ask the questions. Feel empowered to advocate for your heart. We don’t all walk away from pregnancy the same way. And some of us are still at the restaurant. But we’re learning to stand. And speak. And shine light in the corners. I share this not to create fear, but to replace it with knowledge and confidence. You deserve to feel safe in your body. You deserve to know the signs 🫶🏼 Save this post to come back to. Share it with someone you love. PPCM Signs & Symptoms to Know: Shortness of breath (especially lying flat or during rest) Swelling in legs, ankles, or abdomen Fatigue that feels extreme or sudden Rapid weight gain (from fluid) Chest pain or heart palpitations Feeling like your heart is racing or fluttering Cough, especially at night Dizziness or fainting or low blood pressure Risk factors can include: Being pregnant over age 30 Twin or multiple pregnancies Preeclampsia or high blood pressure African American heritage History of PPCM in family or self Ask questions, know your story, trust your body and advocate for your heart ❤️‍🩹 Xo, Emi #PPCMawareness #chronicillness #maternalhealth #heartwarrior heartfailure
