SPCapturing the Milky Way with 100MP of magic ✨
March marks the return of the Milky Way — so I drove over 300 miles to some of the darkest skies in the Southwest desert to put the Hasselblad X2D II 100C to the test.
Medium format hasn’t traditionally been the first choice for astrophotography — too slow, too bulky, not built for high ISO. But that narrative is changing fast.
With 100MP of resolution, over 15 stops of dynamic range, and that signature 16-bit Hasselblad color, the X2D II delivers a level of detail that’s hard to ignore. Pair it with a star tracker and Hasselblad’s new XCD 20-35mm, and the results are on another level. Expansive gallery-quality nightscapes with insane detail you have to see to believe.
