How Med Students Can Use ChatGPT & AI (Doctor POV) AI isn’t magic, and it doesn’t replace your brain but it can be your second brain if used smartly. Here’s how I use it (and how you can too) as a GMC-registered doctor helping PLAB/MRCP aspirants: 1- Organise your study plan: Ask AI to create weekly or daily schedules for topics or exams. For example: “Create a 2-week PLAB revision plan for cardiology.” This keeps you focused and stress-free. 2- Summarize topics: AI can condense long lectures, textbooks, or articles into key points. Perfect for quick revision before exams or clinical rotations. 3- MCQ practice & exam prep: Generate practice questions with answers. For Example: “Give me 5 USMLE-style questions on renal physiology.” Always double-check answers from trusted sources! 4- Create memory aids: Ask AI to make mnemonics, tables, or diagrams for tricky topics, drugs, lab values, symptoms whatever you struggle to memorize. 5- Clinical reasoning practice: Use AI to simulate patient cases and test your reasoning. Example: “Simulate a patient with shortness of breath , what differentials should I consider?” This is how you practice thinking like a doctor. 6- Draft notes & summaries: AI can help you draft notes, but never copy blindly. Your understanding is still the most important part. 7- Responsible & safe usage: Remember, AI is a tool, not a teacher. It can make mistakes, miss nuances, or give outdated info. Always cross-check facts and keep your critical thinking sharp. 💡 Pro tip: Save this reel for future reference and share it with friends navigating med school. Using AI responsibly can save you time, improve your prep, and make study less overwhelming but YOU are the one in control. . . They said no. Then no again. Then I kept going. From science degree to pharma job to med school this journey taught me that purpose doesn’t always arrive on time, but it always arrives. I’m proof that delay is not denial. What looked like rejection at each step was redirection, and every step led me here. God’s timing, my growth, and a path that was never meant to be linear. What’s your path to medicine? Are you a non traditional or traditional pre med student? Balancing work, family or starting later? Comment below, save, share to help encourage someone else. Estás entrenando consistencia, no sufrimiento.
