In microgravity, muscles and bones don’t work as hard, so astronauts often experience muscle weakness and bone density loss. Once back on Earth, they may feel unsteady, dizzy, or weak, and simple movements like standing or walking can be difficult at first. Their sense of balance can also be off because the inner ear adapts to weightlessness in space.
