The Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that the UAE today was subjected to a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles, noting that UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles. It added that the safety of citizens, residents and visitors remains a top priority that cannot be compromised. The Ministry urged the public to rely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified reports. A verified video from Doha, Qatar, dated Feb. 28, 2026, shows people on a road reacting in real time to Iranian missile and drone strikes targeting the region, including areas near Al Udeid Air Base, one of the largest U.S. military installations in the Middle East. Locals are seen ducking for cover as sirens and explosions echo, with small flying objects in the sky likely representing intercepting air-defense fire, debris from intercepted missiles, or incoming threats — not staged or old footage. This comes amid widespread Iranian retaliatory strikes across multiple Gulf states after coordinated U.S. and Israeli air operations against Iran earlier today, which included strikes inside Iran’s territory, according to multiple international news outlets and government reports. Qatar’s Ministry of Defence confirmed that its air-defense systems successfully intercepted several Iranian missiles before they could hit Qatari soil, though loud explosions and smoke were reported over Doha, prompting emergency alerts and warnings for residents to shelter indoors. The broader conflict has rapidly expanded: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it targeted U.S. military bases in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates — including Al Udeid Air Base and the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters — as part of its reprisal for the U.S.–Israeli offensive. Gulf airspace has been closed, airlines have suspended flights, and global concerns are mounting over a further escalation in the already volatile Middle East

What Happened This Night in Dubai on April 7, 2026 According to the UAE Ministry of Defence and Dubai Media Office, the city remained completely calm with no emergencies, accidents, fires or local incidents reported in Dubai itself. Overnight, UAE air defense systems successfully intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles and 19 drones launched from Iran. The loud sounds and explosions heard across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other emirates were the result of these defensive operations neutralizing threats in the sky — not ground impacts. No new fatalities have been reported. A small number of additional injuries were recorded and are being treated. The overall situation is stable and fully under control. Dubai Media Office confirms there is zero damage or disruption in the emirate. Airports, roads, public transport and all services are operating normally. Dubai is safe, open for business and continuing daily life as usual. Thank you for trusting Dubai News 365. An Amazon Prime delivery van remains stuck in the mud in the Thames Estuary near Southend, after its driver followed satnav directions into the sea. Security guards working for QinetiQ, the company that manages Foulness Island on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, told Your Southend that the driver had been trying to access the island yesterday evening to deliver a parcel. The delivery driver abandoned the van after it became firmly stuck in the soft mud and the tide began coming in. They confirmed that Amazon is sending specialist a recovery team today once the tide goes out. The security guards also said this is the second time it has happened in just one week. Amazon delivery drivers use a satnav system unique to the company. However, the system appears to believe the ancient tidal path known as the Broomway is suitable for vehicles. It definitely is not.
