ALReleased in November 1982, “Beat Surrender” serves as the definitive swan song for The Jam. It was the band’s final single, released just as Paul Weller decided to disband the group at the height of their popularity.

Paul Weller wrote the song specifically to mark the end of the band. He described it as a “statement” and a “final clarion call,” essentially telling the fans that the band was stopping and it was now up to the youth to take the movement forward.

"Cooking for Sam Vol. 1" features The Steady 45s putting a skaful spin on two Sam Cooke classics — "Moovin' & Groovin'" with vocalist @andrecruzmusic , and "Whole Lotta Woman" featuring @theaggrolites frontman @jpwags1980. It's the first in a series of 7" singles paying tribute to the soul pioneer who helped inspire Jamaican music in the first place.
