Comment SLAY to get my free 30-page guide. I don’t recommend withdrawing from an IRA. The whole point of investing is to let it grow for years and years. But life throws us curveballs and we need to know what options we have to catch them. You will still have to pay taxes on these withdrawals if you’re taking the money out before you’re 59 1/2 or before you’ve had the account for 5 years so keep that in mind. Also, remember that this is about getting to your EARNINGS, that means the growth in your account. You can always withdraw your contributions for any reason without paying taxes or penalties. So if you contributed $6k and it grows to $8k in one year, you can withdraw the $6k at any time. And you can only withdraw the $2k in growth if one of those listed exceptions applies or you’ll have to pay taxes and a 10% penalty.

There’s a HUGE difference…👇🏽 In how you see your money and how rich people see their money. You might think the mindset is BS, not something that “works” for you, and that’s OK. As a 38-year-old, mindset was NEVER taught in school to me. I sort of thought it was BS too, until I realized that I actually think of money as a totally different thing than most upper-middle-class Americans. In the same way that a commercial fisherman sees his boat as a workhorse and a recreational fisherman sees his boat as part of his hobby toys, I see money differently than most people. Rich people see every dollar that comes into their hemisphere as a tool to build more wealth. 💰 They don’t see money as a thing that’s meant to be spent on bills or to keep them out of debt. They see money as cogs in a machine that’s printing them more money. Money is meant for 1 thing only: Investing. 🤑 That could mean investing in an amazing, memorable family vacation, or it could mean buying shares of Index fund ETFs. Rich people, especially those who didn’t inherit their wealth, invest in their knowledge and then turn around to implement those learnings. They don’t wait until the right time, they don’t wait until they’re more comfortable, they take action now. It’s not your fault that no one ever taught you the right mindset, in fact, society has been telling you the opposite for years. But, please, I’m begging you: STOP giving your money to Target & Costco without a second thought but then balking at the idea of increasing your retirement account contributions. You’re helping huge corporations instead of helping yourself. I’m doing a 💁🏻‍♀️ FREE upcoming workshop called ✨Mini Money Magic.✨ Inside the workshop, we’ll be uncovering what’s really going on with your finances in order to give you a path to solving the problems realistically. Plus, we’ll be looking at the numbers to see what could happen if you started investing your spare cash in the stock market. This one hurts but… Why do you think that having more money will make you aware of how you’re using it? As humans, we are notoriously bad estimators - look at how often we misjudge the time it will take to do a DIY project or the amount we’re going to spend on a vacation.🤷🏻‍♀️ Those same principles apply to your everyday spending. We don’t register how much those everyday transactions are adding up. Having more money flowing in doesn’t mean that we can avoid the fact that our resources are limited. If you can’t manage $100,000, then you probably still can’t manage $200,000. If you continue to ignore how you use your money, you’ll always be dipping into your savings and dragging around old credit card debt. OK, so what do you do instead? 🤔 If you want to go from running out of money every month to accumulating investments that are growing passively in the background, I’m hosting a 💁🏻‍♀️ FREE webinar to show you exactly how self-made millionaires do it. The webinar is called The Money Glow Up: How 6-Figure Earners Can Become Millionaires without Giving Up The Lattes. 🤑 I’m teaching 3 simple money moves that have generated over a million dollars in wealth collectively in just the last year for my clients! Comment GLOW to get access! So, let me ask you…do you really want to keep relying on the fact that you’ll get better at this in the future? If not - comment GLOW to get in control! ✨Follow @rachel_talksmoney ✨Follow @rachel_talksmoney ✨Follow @rachel_talksmoney

Let’s talk paycheck budgeting! 💸  I’m sharing my February Paycheck Budget with you because I truly believe this method is a game changer when it comes to managing your money in real life.  A lot of people don’t realize that paycheck budgeting isn’t about creating a rigid plan—it’s about working with the money you actually have, when you have it. Whether you get paid weekly, biweekly, or irregularly, this method helps you build a budget that fits your real life. 🗓️ Here’s the thing: most budgets fail because they only focus on bills. The Budget by Paycheck Method takes it a step further by including all your real-life expenses—groceries, gas, kids’ activities, and even sinking funds for things like holidays, travel, or pet expenses. 🐾  It’s about making sure your money goes where it’s needed most, paycheck by paycheck, so nothing gets left out. If you’ve been struggling with traditional monthly budgets, I encourage you to try paycheck budgeting—it changed my life when I was paying off $77,000 of debt as a single mom, and it might be what you’ve been missing too. 🙌 Do you already use the paycheck budget method? . . . . . . . . . . . . #PaycheckBudgeting #FebruaryFinances #BudgetByPaycheck #TheBudgetMom #DebtFreeJourney #MoneyManagementTips #FinancialFreedom #SmartSpending #BudgetingMadeSimple #RealLifeBudgeting #PlanYourPaycheck #SinkingFunds #MoneyMindset #BudgetWithMe #MonthlyBudgeting #FinancialGoals #OrganizeYourMoney

Track your spending 📝 ✨ Tracking your spending is the key to getting into the habit of spending with intention. When you can see exactly where your money has gone, you can address where your spending habits lie and what your triggers are. With this information, you can then create friction to prevent the impulse spends from happening. For example, if online shops are your weakness - remove your saved cards. Tracking your spending is a game changer - trust me, try it out for a few weeks and you’ll be amazed at what you find.
