PCThis incredible property was initially constructed for Fredrick W Vanderbilt in 1882. It became the home to Doris Duke until 1993. The Rough Point home was opened to the public in 2000.

ENEnnead Partner Thomas Wong together with Dr. Kenneth Lacovara of Rowan University and Gretchen Coss of G&A recently presented at MuseumNext’s Green Museums Summit. The virtual conference brought together leaders from around the world who are helping museums to champion sustainable choices.
The talk, “Museum Architecture in the Age of the Anthropocene,” featured the Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park and Museum of Rowan University as a case study. The Edelman Fossil Park Museum aims to build a community around the themes of discovery and responsible stewardship of the planet, so its building must fully embrace those values. Under construction now, it will be New Jersey’s largest public net zero facility—no fossil fuels will be combusted for museum operations, and no greenhouse gasses will be released into the atmosphere.

18 November lalu kita telah bersama menyaksikan Indonesia Museum Awards 2023, terima kasih atas kehadiran, perhatian dan dukungan Bapak, Ibu dan Sahabat semua. Selamat untuk peraih tahun ini. Semoga acara ini semakin mendorong museum-museum di tanah air semakin jaya dan bermakna bagi masyarakatnya. Harapan kami masyarakat Indonesia semakin menyadari manfaat dan arti penting museum bagi kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara. Sementara itu museum ke depan pastinya akan semakin terbuka dan mampu memfasilitasi berbagai kebutuhan sosial dan beragam kondisi masyarakat.
Mohon maaf lahir dan batin bila ada kekurangan dalam penyelenggaraan acara kemarin.

THWHAT IS THIS ‘BORING’ OBJECT?
A few years ago, I took this object in my suitcase to a MuseumNext conference in Geneva for a workshop on using Visible Thinking with art and objects.
I had already selected a painting, but I also wanted an object to demonstrate how you can use thinking routines to generate engaging discussions about ANY type of object.
I chose this everyday functional object - it’s not the most beautiful of objects. It’s well-designed, yes, but not a thing of immediate beauty. Or is it….?
I was really intrigued as to how long we could spend discussing it using See Think Wonder. In the end we spent 25+ mins talking about this - and we could’ve gone on for longer.

En ell, vam presentar “From World Heritage to NFT”, una conferència que resumeix un projecte únic realitzat pel monument de Gaudí en col·laboració amb l’artista New Media @refikanadol.
El pasado 10 y 11 de octubre de 2022 tuvo lugar el Digital Collections Summit de MuseumNext, el congreso que analiza las tendencias e innovaciones en arte digital dentro del contexto museístico. En él, presentamos “From World Heritage to NFT”, una conferencia que resume un proyecto único realizado por el monumento de Gaudí en colaboración con el artista New Media @refikanadol.
The MuseumNext Digital Collections Summit took place last October 10th and 11th, 2022. The conference examines innovation and trends in all digital aspects in the museum context. Casa Batlló presented “From World Heritage to NFT,” the story of how @refikanadol brought Casa Batlló’s façade back to life through the artwork ”Living Architecture”, utilizing technology at its utmost potential.

MU嚴選五間今年開幕的博物館，想要報復性出遊但還拿不定主意的你，這篇希望可以幫你定錨未來幾個月的探索之旅！澳洲博物館媒體MuseumNext，去年底精選了十間2023年開幕、萬眾注目的全球博物館，我們在這邊來去蕪存菁，就挑我們心中的前五大不可錯過、一定得一起作伙去聞裝潢味道的新博物館。
🏛 華沙現代美術館（The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw）
有去過波蘭華沙的朋友都知道，除了火車站附近的幾個文化機構外，剩下就是參觀城堡和逛大學建築的行程，看著青年旅館提供的地圖，坐在咖啡店發愣...。這個雖然是首都，但好像讓遊客有點不知是好的城市，自2016年的國際競圖後，重新翻修由一棟舊蘇聯建築改建的新空間，建築風格有點像是倒著的紐約MoMA白立方體堆疊成的幾何形狀，也算是為這個令人不知所措的首都增添一個新的觀光景點。
🏛 首爾機器人和人工智慧博物館（The Robot & AI Museum in Seoul）
距離臺灣很近的韓國首爾，設立全韓國第一個以AI產業和人工智慧產業的專門博物館，將會將展覽設定在四項敘事之中，有點像是以前科技博物館的更專精在人工智慧、機器學習、機器人或無人機類型主題的推廣教育文化機構。
🏛 開羅大埃及博物館（The Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo）
全球最大的考古博物館，這話一說應該就讓人很想買機票去埃及了吧！這座博物館其實從計劃到興建已經蓋了20年，中間歷經各種政治、經濟、社會因素或醜聞，導致開館時間不斷延遲，這好像想到某個巨蛋工程啊（呵呵呵.....）。博物館坐落在吉薩金字塔群旁，未來已規劃延伸新館的計畫，大埃及博物館只會逐漸膨脹越變越大！當然這種國家級的館，所以想得到埃及還沒被歐美列強掠奪走的東西都會在此看得到，約有十萬件可追溯到史前時代的手工藝品，也有許多文物還是首次展出在民眾面前。
🏛 蘇格蘭國家美術館（The Scottish National Gallery）
老館重新改建，位於蘇格蘭愛丁堡的蘇格蘭國家美術館於1859 年開幕，自2019一月因增加展覽空間開始進行擴建工程。上次同年去愛丁堡健行的時，也就很遺憾的沒有逛到，這個以新古典主義風格建造的國家博物館。
🏛 印度班加羅爾藝術與攝影博物館 (The Museum of Art and Photography in Bengaluru)
私人藏家Abhishek Poddar的私人博物館，空間設計豪華到不敢相信還完全免費（只有特展額外收費），約六萬件東南亞視覺藝術的收藏，佛心大放送免費看。如果大家還印象，在去年九月份我們就已經介紹過這位大金主的另一個撒幣專案，東南亞藝術線上百科全書。今年二月份，MAP博物館就即將開放給社會大眾，想必又會是一個印度年輕人約會，躲愛八卦和管閒事親戚的一個好去處（請聽先前的節目，40個難以抗拒的首次網交地點，或搜尋這篇文章『The museum as a dating venue: Couples in the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum in Bhopal, India』Ina Ross, Leicester of University Museum and Society）。
