SHI hope this message reaches those who would benefit from it most.
I do not apologize for the last 10 years of spreading the message of #BuyBlack. At the height of that movement, we saw a 56% increase in Black-owned businesses, a $200 billion increase in GDP, and an additional $61 billion paid in salaries by Black businesses. That is meaningful impact. We’ve done great work. No matter if the publications want to ignore my existence because I’m a Muslim. I’m still Black and I care!
We Buy Black was about strengthening our community so we could better care for ourselves and our families.
Now, #NASPORA carries a similar message — but with a broader vision. It invites us to see “ourselves” as the entire Black community and “our family” as the whole human race.
I pray you support this new message just as strongly as you supported #WeBuyBlack — and even more.
Thank you all. I love you all. Let’s remember that the civilized human family is larger, greater, and stronger than any small group that gives itself to destructive ways.
And honestly — who better to help carry this message than you and I?
