TRAccess the Big Tree Trail by zodiac from Tofino harbour with a local skipper (~10–15 min crossing).
The full hike is ~3.1 km with ~114 m elevation, starting on boardwalk and continuing into natural forest terrain.
Beyond the boardwalk, expect frequent, often deep mud, roots, and uneven footing- this is a true rainforest trail.
Along the route, you pass old-growth cedar, spruce, and hemlock- some over 6 m across and up to 2,000 years old.
This is a self-guided hike inside a protected Tribal Park where the forest was never logged.
