“All these events… in just one year?” On Neptune, a single year lasts about 165 Earth years. That means everything you’re seeing could span centuries from our perspective. Seasons stretch for decades, storms can last for years, and changes unfold on timescales far beyond a human lifetime. What feels like a moment there… is an era here. Time doesn’t flow the same everywhere in the solar system—it depends on where you are. 🌌 #Neptune #SpaceTime #Astronomy #Cosmos #SpaceFacts

#Neptune Reel by @nasa_void - Neptune holds the record for the longest year in our solar system, taking about 165 Earth years-or nearly 60,190 Earth days-to complete just one orbit

Neptune holds the record for the longest year in our solar system, taking about 165 Earth years—or nearly 60,190 Earth days—to complete just one orbit around the Sun. Being the farthest planet, Neptune travels along the largest orbital path and moves much slower due to the Sun’s weaker gravitational pull. This follows Kepler’s Third Law, which explains why distant planets take longer to orbit. In this video, we compare the orbital periods of all the planets and explore how distance from the Sun shapes time itself across the solar system. #Neptune #SolarSystem #Planets #Astronomy #SpaceFacts Universe Science Galaxy NASA Cosmos astrophysics Please follow my page @nasa_void for more!

Diamond rain on Neptune sounds unreal… but it’s based on real physics 💎🌌 Under extreme pressure and heat, methane breaks apart, forming carbon that crystallizes into diamonds. In the deep layers of Neptune, it may literally rain diamonds. The universe is far more extreme than we imagine. #DiamondRain #Neptune #SpaceScience #Astrophysics #UniverseFacts

The most common planets might be far beyond our own solar system. 😮 These planets, which seem to be abundant in other planetary systems, are known as super-Earths and mini-Neptunes. Super-Earths are bigger than Earth and can be made of gas, rock, or a combination of both. They may or may not have atmospheres. Mini-Neptunes are bigger than super-Earths but smaller than Neptune, with hydrogen and helium-dominated outer atmospheres and rocky cores. We covered all this and more in our latest episode of “Astro-Investigates.” Tap the link in bio to watch the whole thing!
