Being a mom is the greatest honor of my life. Nothing brings me more joy. And… It is overstimulating **AF** and it took me literal years to learn how to regulate my nervous system again after having my daughter. I was never a pre-bedtime shower girl until I became a mom, but now it is my absolute favorite routine. No matter what happens during the day it still ends with my red light shower. It’s grounding, it’s calming, and it is incredible for my nervous system.🙏 (Comment “links” below and I’ll send you links to the portable red light lamp and nontoxic shower steamers I use!) I add a shower steamer with stress-releasing eucalyptus and bergamot and do some deep breathing once I’m in the shower (it literally feels like I’m at a fancy spa-hello romanticizing life!), and I play some 432 Hz music, which studies show can significantly lower anxiety and reduce cortisol (aka the stress hormone). It promotes deep relaxation and a lower heart rate, perfect for priming you for bed. You can just search 432 Hz music or frequencies on YouTube or Spotify! If you need a nervous system reset I truly cannot recommend this nighttime routine enough! #overstimulatedmom #fulltimemommy #nervoussystemcare #bedtimeroutines #cleanlivingmama
