But it’s still missing the point. ❌ A good warm-up isn’t just about “getting warm.” It’s about switching your body on. 🧠 We’re waking up the nervous system so muscles fire faster, reactions are sharper, and everything feels more responsive from the first whistle. We’re also priming the muscles that protect you on court: ⚡ glutes
⚡ calves
⚡ hips
⚡ feet
⚡ core So they’re ready to produce AND absorb force instead of scrambling to catch up once the game starts. And most importantly? We’re preparing the body for what netball actually demands: • landing mechanics
• acceleration and first-step speed
• deceleration and stopping control
• lateral movement and direction changes Because if the first time your body has to land, stop or react is during the game… That’s when players feel slow.
That’s when movement gets sloppy.
And that’s when injuries happen. 🫣 Now — we know netballers are a superstitious bunch. If your team has a warm-up routine you love, don’t scrap it. Just make sure it includes these boxes: ✔ nervous system activation
