3 - individuated from human nature (lol) when I chose to make my way of life about following purpose (and letting comfort take a back seat.)
I truly feel that the key is, when you “individuate” when you go stand in your own convictions OVER staying enmeshed in a culture/group/relationship,
And you give up belonging, comfort & stability for the sake of being your actual self, and moving forward in the world the way your soul needs you to,
Take people with you. Repair what is broken where you can. Let yourself be seen, known, understood, even in your process of breaking away
Maybe we wanna break away with you!!
Maybe (imagine.) there’s something better & more important than the way we are now.
Lead the way! Individuating is funnily enough NOT only about you, and thank goodness.
It’s funny … when you’re brave enough to be lonely you can end up finding some of the most profound connections of your life.

NEWhen you’re identity shifting there’s an awkward in between phase that isn’t acknowledged very often. Letting go of old ways of being makes way for the new, but you have to figure out what and who you want to embody... That takes time, trial, and error. I hope you give yourself grace in the in-between phases and know that you are doing better than you think even embarking on this journey to begin with 🫶🏼

NAHi I’m Nan, my 8 year relationship ended 1 year ago and I had to start over again - I’m not embarrassed to admit:
1. “Starting over is scary, but settling was killing me” The comfortable relationship was right there. All I had to do was convince myself it was enough. But there’s a difference between being brave and just being honest about what isn’t working anymore.
2. “I should’ve left sooner, but I’m grateful I stayed long enough to leave completely” Sometimes I think about the years I could’ve saved. Then I remember - I needed every single day to get to the point where I could walk away without looking back. There’s peace in knowing you tried everything.
3. “I grew 13k followers in 9 months and still doubt myself” Finally bet on myself, took the leap to create content because I genuinely love the way content can change lives and built something I’m passionate about just by sharing my story. But then there are days where I wonder if I’m doing enough? the imposter syndrome hits different when people actually connect with what you’re creating - but it makes it all worth it though.
4. “The unknown terrifies me and that’s exactly why I’m running toward it “No plan, no timeline, no guarantees. Just possibility and endless opportunities.
5. “Solo date 43/100 and I’m becoming dangerously comfortable alone“ doing anything solo, especially dining was embarrassing for me and uncomfortable. Now I’m dining in the sky, going to concerts, and learning different things alone. Follow my journey to 100 solo dates 🫶🏻 @nannan.jpg

THI’m obsessed with myself because I am so proud of how far I’ve come. 16 year old Cilia would be so happy.
Literally I am a totally person. I actually look insecure and lost in my old pictures especially when I was in that 9 year relationship.
The relationship was emotionally abusive and I didn’t know at the time. It’s only a few years later when I told my best friend who’s a psycho therapist about the dynamic of the relationship and she said that I was emotionally abused.
It made so much sense. Because he used to project his insecurities on to me and made me question if there really was something wrong with me.
He made me feel ashamed for being a happy person. He literally said to me “why are you always so happy? You know that can be quite annoying because not everything is good in life”
He said I don’t need to always dress up, dress more casual. And I actually told myself that it’s true and I now have him I don’t need to dress to impress.
Anyway the list goes on.
The Cilia today doesn’t need to be liked by everyone because she knows she doesn’t need to be everyone’s cup of tea.
She does not live her life according to societal and cultural norms. She does not settle for mediocre. She is always betting on herself. She trusts herself. She loves herself. She is living her life boldly.
