MÖ 4. yüzyılda Nabatiler tarafından kurulan bu kent, ticaret yollarının kesişim noktasında yer alarak kısa sürede zenginleşmiş ve bölgenin en önemli merkezlerinden biri haline gelmiştir. Çölde böylesine gelişmiş bir şehir kurabilmelerinin sırrı, suyu depolayan ve yönlendiren ileri mühendislik sistemleriydi. Dar bir kanyon olan “Siq” geçidinden ilerleyerek ulaşılan şehir, ziyaretçilerini aniden ortaya çıkan görkemli yapılarıyla adeta büyüler. Petra’nın en ikonik yapısı olan El-Hazne (Al-Khazneh), tamamen kayalara oyulmuş ihtişamlı cephesiyle antik dünyanın mimari ustalığını gözler önüne serer. Bunun yanı sıra tiyatrolar, tapınaklar, mezar anıtları ve sütunlu caddeler, Petra’nın yalnızca bir şehir değil aynı zamanda güçlü bir kültür ve sanat merkezi olduğunu kanıtlar. Stepping into the Siq after dark felt less like a tourist attraction and more like a journey back in time. There was a special kind of energy that felt mystical… one you just can’t catch during the day. The highlight for me was the walk to the Treasury. The silence of the desert, flickering lights, broken only by the melodies of Bedouin flutes echoing off… The show is new and has evolved into a narrative-driven 3D experience. Using the Treasury facade as a canvas, the projection mapping visually walks you through the history of the place. When:Sunday–Thursday from 8:30pm Ticket: is 30 JOD (around $43) and you MUST present a valid day ticket to enter Tip: Arrive early to be among the first in the Siq, the silence of that walk before the crowd catches up is where the real magic happens. #petra #petrabynight #petrajordan #visitjordan #worldwonder
