Does your baby hate tummy time? You’re not alone and the good news is, there are so many ways to build those same muscles and milestones without tears (for either of you 😅). If your baby cries the moment you lay them on their tummy, try mixing it up with these gentle alternatives: ✨ On a ball (great for balance + core control) ✨ Across your knees (for comfort + eye contact) ✨ On their tummy reaching for toys (to build motivation) ✨ Inclined on your bent legs (adds support) ✨ Forward-prop sitting on your lap or the floor (for upper-body strength) Remember, tummy time doesn’t have to mean flat on the floor. Every bit of time spent weight-bearing through arms, chest and neck counts toward those big milestones like rolling, crawling and sitting. 💡 Start small, even a few seconds at a time makes a difference. 🎥 Comment TUMMY to receive a more indepth insight in my tummy time blog #DrGolly #TummyTime #BabyDevelopment #Milestones #Paediatrician #ParentTips #BabyMotorSkills

🚗🦠 Your child’s car seat could be dirtier than a toilet seat A University of Birmingham study found 100 strains of potentially harmful bacteria and fungi per square centimeter on children’s car seats, which is more than the average toilet seat. Here’s how to keep it safe: ✅ Remove crumbs and food with a handheld vacuum regularly ✅ Spot clean fabric and buckles with warm water and a small amount of mild soap 🚫 Never use Lysol, Clorox, vinegar, or other harsh chemicals because they can damage straps and materials ✅ Always check your owner’s manual first A clean seat is not just about looks. It is about keeping your child healthier and safer every ride. #girldad #parenting #healthandwellness #CarSeatSafety #ParentTips CleanAndSafe MomLife DadLife

While safe sleep can feel like a lot in the beginning, it really comes down to a few simple habits that matter most ❤️ Let’s walk through the ABCs of safe sleep 👇 A is for alone. Baby should always sleep in their own safe sleep space, not in bed with you. B is for on their back. Every nap, every night. C is for crib or bassinet, placed in the same room as a caregiver for the first six months. D is for don’t fall asleep holding baby. If you are feeling tired, make sure baby is placed down in a safe sleep space. E is for early medical advice. If something feels off, trust your instincts and reach out. F is for firm, flat mattress. Baby should always sleep on a firm, flat surface made for infant sleep. G is for get rid of extras. No loose blankets, pillows, or soft items in the crib. These small steps matter. Since the Back to Sleep campaign launched in 1991, SIDS deaths have dropped significantly, and safe sleep education continues to save lives. Toddlers learn how to open doors WAY faster than we expect. Adding a simple door alarm or childproof lock can help prevent kids from wandering outside — especially overnight or early in the morning. Also helpful for sleepwalkers and elderly family members. Safety tip worth sharing with another parent. #parentsofinstagram #toddlersofinsta #parenttips

If your baby cries for hours in the evening and you’ve been told it’s just colic, don’t panic, and don’t lose hope. 💙 Colic usually peaks between 6–8 weeks of age and can be caused by a combination of things: 🍼 Feeding issues (air, fast flow, or trapped wind) 💤 Overtiredness or overstimulation 😣 Tummy discomfort or gas The goal isn’t just to wait it out, it’s to find and address what’s causing your baby’s discomfort. That’s where small, gentle changes can make a huge difference. Comment ‘COLIC’ on this post and I’ll DM you my free 7-minute video that walks you through the common causes of colicky behaviour and what to do next. #DrGolly #Colic #BabyCrying #Paediatrician #NewParents #BabyHealth #InfantCare #ParentTips
