APOne thousand fluffy little baby chicks have landed on the farm 🐥
We’re expanding our flock to bring you more pasture-raised eggs… and it all starts from the very first day these future egg-laying hens arrive on the farm. These chicks come to us via the post office (yup!) and are welcomed with hands-on care from our Poultry Team. Each tiny beak is gently dipped into water to help with their first sips, and each chick is carefully inspected upon arrival.
The chicks will grow up together in this ✨brand new brooder room✨ that’s thoughtfully designed to keep them warm, safe, and healthy. They have constant access to fresh, electrolyte-rich water, and a nutrient-dense, organic, soy-free, GMO-free chick starter feed.
All of this early care lays the foundation for strong, healthy birds. Once they’re big enough, they’ll transition out to pasture, where they’ll freely roam, forage, and help regenerate the land.

The yellow = grass finished
The white = grain finished
Most people don’t realize this.
When cows are raised the way they’re meant to be on grass, the fat turns yellow because of the nutrients in the grass (beta carotene, like what makes carrots orange 🥕).
When they’re grain finished, the fat stays white.
Neither one is “fake” but they are very different.
At our ranch, this is what we aim for.
Always Pasture raised, never penned, grass and grain finished options.
Animals raised naturally, eating what they’re supposed to eat.
You can see it. You can taste it.
And once you know, you can’t unsee it. Farm fresh beef hits differently.

LICheap chicken at the grocery store is very different from what we grow. If you haven't tried raising your own chickens, here's your encouragement.
1. It tastes so much better. The grocery store chicken doesn't have any flavor, in my opinion.
2. It's so much better for you. When the animal is healthier, you are healthier.
3. It's quick, from chick to full grown bird it takes 6-8 weeks.
4. My grass has never looked better. (After about 10 days for it to recover.) The chickens fertilize and peck and scratch it with no smell.
5. It's a lesson for our family. With 4 kiddos, we teach them about where their food comes from.
It's definitely hard work, but we are happy to do it.
