People with disabilities face adversity everyday, especially when it comes to equal opportunities at work. But the truth is, we’re so much more capable than the world thinks we are! Breaking through old narratives and starting new conversations around inclusivity in the work place is very important! I’m so thankful there are organizations like @cphrbc standing with us, supporting us, and helping us rise! 🤍 I couldn’t have been any happier to speak and share my story with all of you at @cphrbc! Thank you for the important work you’re doing to make sure that everyone gets a chance to shine! And of course, thank you so much for having me!! ❤️ #inclusivity #inclusiveworkplace #inclusivehiring #inclusion #inclusionmatters #representationmatters #disabilityawareness #disabilityadvocate

STAND UP. We use this platform to encourage, to educate and to advocate for people with disabilities. Before I got into modeling, I was speaking to schools and organizations about bullying, kindness acceptance, and opportunities-because I myself was bullied. The use of the R word has been increasing lately. I stand with @specialolympics @bestbuddies @johnscrazysocks @anthonykshriver @timothyshriver @momccormick7 and others to call for an END of the use of this word. We understand that ‘retarded’ was once a medical term, but that’s no longer the case. 1. It’s a term used to degrade and dehumanize people. Many times these individuals cannot speak or stand up for themselves. 2. The R-word is HATE speech. If you hear someone using it, please ask them to stop and explain how hurtful it is not only to the person, but to family and friends of those loved ones . Stand up ⬆️ and don’t be afraid to say something. 3. We all deserve to feel safe and when the R word is thrown around, it creates a society where degrading people is okay and reinforces the stereotype that people with intellectual disabilities are not as capable or worthy of respect. 4. Culture and leadership start at the top. People take their cues from our leaders. If we ignore and excuse those in powerful positions using hate speech we allow it to continue, become acceptable, and trickle down. 5. SPEAK UP. STAND UP. Please. This isn’t about what party you belong to or politics. It is about basic human rights, dignity and feeling safe. 6. Please make your voices heard so we can end this hate and get on to respecting differences where each of us has a place in this world and feels safe. #standoutforgood #downsyndromeawareness #shareyourstory #kindness #reelsofinstagram #beinspired #inspiremyinstagram #disabilityawareness #weallbelong #mindfulness

Having a disability does not make someone less worthy of love, of family, or a future. The idea that someone’s value depends on their physical or mental abilities is ableism and eugenics. People with disabilities are worthy. They have every right to build a life and legacy.

Today is International Day of Persons With Disabilities. This community is not one many plan to ever be part of and yet, right at this very moment there are more than a billion individual stories of disability across the globe, a place that can still feel like it wasn’t designed with disability in mind. It feels that way because it wasn’t. Today is a day we get to both celebrate the milestones reached in acceptance, understanding and compassion for what it means to be human while also recognizing the opportunity we still have to leave this place better than we found it, better than it found us. I am grateful for the invaluable perspective of lived experience and the privilege I have to not only be frustrated by the institutional barriers to accessibility and equity within our world but to also be part of the conversations that get us to what we can and should do better. It is a gift to exist in the space of both. Life is meant to be lived and I am grateful for everything that mine is, those everyday moments and extraordinary adventures it unabashedly holds. 🤍 • • • #PeopleWithDisabilities #Disability #DisabilityAwareness #IDPWD #RepresentationMatters #Accessibility #DisabilityAdvocate

People with disabilities get underestimated all the time. I want to be part of changing that narrative. And I happen to think it starts with education! Sometimes I don’t know if people realize the limits society puts on us. So let me take a second to shatter that ceiling real quick 😜 Starting with this fun fact… that people with Down syndrome - or any disability for that matter - have just as much of a right to fall in love, get married, and live the life of their dreams as anyone else! Shattering expectations can be tough but it’s so much fun proving people wrong! And it’s so much easier when I have all of you in my corner. Thankful for every one of you following along and for everything you do to make sure my voice is heard. Sending out so much love ❤️ #disabilityawareness #disabilityadvocate #representation #representationmatters #inclusion #inclusionmatters #breakingstereotypes #lovewins #disabilitypride #dontlimityourself #dreambig

That last week of August was just 🥲 Today is International People With Disabilities Day and the theme the United Nations discussed this year was "Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress." Worldwide there are countless hurdles for people with disabilities, including but not limited to: • Higher risks of poverty • Limited access to decent work and lower wages •Gaps in social protection • Barriers to autonomy, dignity and agency within care and support systems •Unequal access to assistive technologies and accessible environments All throughout 2024, I begged my doctor to help me. I was slowly getting weaker, especially seen in my weightlifting in the gym, getting winded walking my daughter 4 blocks to school, and developing migraines after every workout/heart rate increase. She left the clinic to move (good luck with that one, Australia) and my kid brought home the norovirus in January 2025. It absolutely crushed my immune system. What was a slow decline had dramatically altered the course of my health. The decline was so sharp that when I was assigned a new doc, I was finally believed that I was not ok. And now, I have a cardiologist, rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, and neurologist. I've done countless tests, been hospitalized, and am doing multiple treatments to help with my quality of life living with multiple incurable chronic illnesses. I deal with a lot of rage, being in a system where I knew something wasn't right, asked for help, and got told to just eat differently, lose weight, and work out more. Which is insane because I was doing all of that anyway. The way people are constantly gaslit into thinking they can magically cure serious illnesses without actual medical interventions is cruel. I also have been having to take a serious look at my ableism. I was so ignorant. When you're not ill, most people just don't have these issues on their radar. I'm trying to continue to educate myself while also having grace for my situation that is going to be a lifelong journey. If you've read this little essay, thank you so much. For being a piece of a larger puzzle that is helping me to stay the course and persevere. 🖤
