Australia’s most iconic bridge that connects North shore and Sydney CBD together.

• the bridge was officially opened on 19th March 1932
• it took 1,300+ people, 8 years to build
• it’s fondly called as Coathanger. 134m tall or about 186 Australian White Ibises (1 ibis = 72cm)
• the bridge weighs 52,800 tonnes or roughly 440,000 Australian fur seals
• the two halves of the arch met on 19th August 1930, ahead of the 1932 opening.
• cats once lived in the south-eastern pylon. They belonged to Yvonne Rentoul, who maintained the lookout for 22 years.
• the bridge is undergoing a glow-up for its 100th, with surfaces being repainted and rust treated. 150,000 square metres of steel will be repainted. 130 painters, riggers, electricians, fitters and engineers will be involved. There'll be 4 coats of paint, each a slightly different shade. The final coat is the heritage-listed 'Sydney Harbour Bridge Grey'.
