SHThe Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize is now open at the Millennium Gallery in @sheffmuseums. It shows over 50 photos by some of the world’s best photographers.
This is the only place outside London where you can see the Prize. It celebrates how we see other people and ourselves. The photos come from the National Portrait Gallery.
One photo is of the award-winning actor Owen Cooper. He is best known for his lead role in Adolescence.
The photographs show many emotions, from tender moments to bold portraits.
Curator Katie Irwin talks about the prize and why it matters to the city.

MCWhat I didn’t mention in the video report from the London Art Fair 2026, is how fresh it all feels. A lot of new galleries and artists I haven’t seen before. Great job LAF. Unfortunately, still too much Bridget Riley, Miro, Warhol et al… it always feels a bit desperate to me. But I probably wouldn’t feel that way if Van Gogh had a print market!! 😂

WHIt has been such a joy having Essence of Flow on the walls of the National Gallery of Ireland. One of the loveliest parts of this experience has been the pleasure of getting to know so many incredible artists along the way. 🎨✨
The AIB Portrait Prize is in its final few weeks here in Dublin before heading off on tour, so it’s a beautiful time to catch the exhibition if you’re nearby.
If you have a chance to pop into the Gallery Shop
while visiting, you might notice something new on the shelves—they are now very kindly stocking my book,
City Beat / Country Street. It’s wonderful to see it there, as well as at its home, of course, at Photo Museum Ireland
