LII think you can tell from this clip that I’m a huge fan of @ashbarty.
I cannot explain how fascinated I was to watch her retire from tennis, seemingly at her peak. To walk away and not “need” more from her sport, was truly foreign to me because I ALWAYS felt like I *needed* more from my sport.
More medals, more records, more teams. Because then MAYBE I’d feel worthy.
So to see someone, so comfortable in themselves and not needing anything else from their sport, was both confusing to me but also, incredibly inspiring.
And clearly it’s a true testament to Ash’s parents and how they raised their child, a testament to Ash and her commitment to developing herself physically but more importantly, mentally, and also, the work that she did with @bencrowe05 around being a human being, not just a human doing.
Anyway, the fangirl in me rocked hard for this episode.
