Getting trans healthcare is expensive 😒 A lot of people complain about trans people getting health care when this is an absolutely life line to us. NHS waiting lists for gender care are so long that I expect I will have been on the wait for 10 years + before I even get an appointment (its already been 3) Obviously I had to go private as I definitely wouldn’t have maintained any will to exist in that time. This means that I have been paying private doctors for almost 3 years now, not to mention the hair removal sessions at £100 every 2 weeks, decapeptyl testosterone blockers at £300 every 3 months, much needed therapy which I could not continue due to costs due to my surgery in the 10s of thousands. I am incredibly fortunate to have a shared care agreement. Your average trans person would not be able to afford a lot of these costs and truly suffer without. I can guarantee that so many people will scream and shout about this saying that they are hard done by because someone else is getting part of the healthcare that they should be entitled to. Why should trans people who rely on medication to live a happy and healthy life be excluded from healthcare? There is no good reason! #transhealth #transgender #hrt
