MOThere are songs that take me back to the beginning like “Gata-Ula” by Malofou Pailate Eteru, an anthem of the village I hail from, the one that follows me wherever I go, reminding me of my where a journey started. And then, there are songs like this one written for me “Tofa Si O’u Atunuu Pele Samoa” by Faletafaoga Pailate Eteru for the path I walked as Miss Samoa 2023/24. A song that feels like a chapter closing, yet still lingers like an echo of all the blessings along the way 🖤🎶🥺
Lately I’ve had more time to dance! Relearning this Siva Samoa, choreographed by my Mum, was like stepping back into a memory. I preformed it on the Miss Samoa stage as a farewell last year, with Aumaga from Asau Savai’i. Movements and meaning still in my heart. And though time moves forward, I will always dance it.
