Check out 5. Here are five more symptoms that can be cancer-related but often have benign explanations part II: 1. Coughing up blood (hemoptysis). Even a small amount of blood in your sputum can be alarming — and it should be evaluated. While it’s most commonly caused by bronchitis, a respiratory infection, or even vigorous coughing, it can also signal lung cancer, especially in smokers or those with prolonged respiratory symptoms. 2. Blood in the urine (hematuria). Seeing pink, red, or brown-tinged urine is startling, but kidney stones, UTIs, and strenuous exercise are far more common culprits than cancer. That said, painless hematuria in particular warrants evaluation to rule out bladder or kidney cancer. 3. A lump or swelling that’s new or growing. Most lumps are benign — lipomas, cysts, or reactive lymph nodes. But a lump that’s hard, fixed, painless, or slowly enlarging deserves attention, as it can represent lymphoma, soft tissue sarcoma, or metastatic disease. 4. Difficulty swallowing (dysphagia). Trouble swallowing is usually tied to acid reflux, esophageal spasm, or a stricture. But progressive dysphagia — especially when it starts with solids and moves to liquids — can be an early sign of esophageal or head and neck cancer. 5. Skin changes that won’t heal. A sore that bleeds repeatedly, a mole that changes shape or color, or a patch of skin that crusts and doesn’t resolve are usually benign inflammatory or infectious conditions. But non-healing skin lesions can represent basal cell, squamous cell, or melanoma — and early detection here is genuinely life-saving. The key is persistence — symptoms that don’t resolve with typical treatments or that progressively worsen warrant medical evaluation to rule out serious causes. Follow for more. You won’t notice this… until it’s too late. Most parents walk past this every single day and don’t think twice. Blind cords. They sit there… harmless, right? Until a child pulls, twists, or gets caught in them. And it happens fast. No warning. No noise. No time to react. That’s why they’re one of the most overlooked risks in the home. Here’s what to do: • Keep cords out of reach at all times • Use cord winders or cleats to secure them • Avoid letting cords hang near beds, cots, or play areas Small fix. Massive difference. We see this in homes every single week. Good parents. Safe homes. Just one thing missed. If you’re not 100% sure your home is safe… Comment CHECKLIST and we’ll send you a quick home safety scorecard you can go through in under 10 minutes. No fluff. Just the stuff that actually matters. The child in this video does break free from the blind cord. #babysafe #babysafety #prevention #awareness #checklist

👹Day 26 of 28 day topical chemotherapy MENTALLY NOT OK TODAY SO WILL KEEP IT SHORT AND SWEET! BUT I WILL REPEAT THIS OVER AND OVER, IF YOU CAN AVOID EVER HAVING TO DO THIS SHIT!!!!!! Avoid it ♥️ So PLEASE protect yourself from the sun! SUNSCREEN ✔️ UPF clothing✔️ HAT✔️ and apply your sunscreen properly✔️✔️ AND DO NOT BAKE IN THE SUN or this is potentially your future 😞😞😞😞😞 Shld be ok by tomorrow SORRY 🙈 What is TOLAK? (topical chemotherapy) It is called 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and is mainly used for non-melanoma skin cancers, especially: * Basal cell carcinoma (superficial type) * Squamous cell carcinoma in situ * Actinic keratosis (a precancer that can develop into squamous cell carcinoma) What TOLAK does: It interferes with DNA and RNA production in rapidly dividing cells, stopping cancer 🙏🏻SUNSCREEN EVERY DAMN DAY🙏🏻 #skincancer #prevention #mentalhealth #myjourney #sunscreen

Medieval Health Outcomes. In many cases choosing the “natural” course of action means choosing untreated disease or greater risk of harm. Holistic *could* mean comprehensive care, but often it seems to mean “hole in logic” used as a platitude to try to mistakenly justify a course of action that leads to harm. I talk about sleep, stress, nutrition and fitness with each patient (or try to… sometimes we focus). I would talk more about exposure to nature, socialization and spiritual health if I had the time. Go to nature, but don’t go there for your health outcomes. I lived in the hospital for a decade so that your children don’t have to be there. - #health #wellness #doctor #medicine #prevention

Most parents don’t think about this at Easter. But some of these might pop into your house as alternate kids gifts to chocolate. Button batteries are in: • Light up Easter bunny ears • Small Easter gadget • Flashing Easter toys • Some Easter decorations And if swallowed, they can burn through a child’s oesophagus in as little as 2 hours. That’s what happened to Camila. It started as a fever. Doctors thought it was a virus. It wasn’t. A button battery had already caused serious internal damage. She’s now fighting through recovery. Before you hide the eggs at easter... take 5 minutes and check your home. Secure anything with a button battery. Tape it. Lock it. Move it out of reach. Because this isn’t rare. It’s just overlooked. If you’ve got little ones at home, this is worth checking today. PS: No scare tactics here. Just something most parents don’t realise until it’s too late. #buttonbatteries #awareness #prevention #safety #firststeps

If your child has no gaps between their teeth, mouth breathes, or has dark circles under their eyes, their jaws are not growing correctly. 👉 Catching this early is the best way to protect their future health. #childhealth #parentingdecisions #growthanddevelopment #kidsdentist #prevention

🫀ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION: VASCULAR REMODELING AND LOSS OF ELASTICITY High blood pressure does not first “clog” the artery — it remodels the vessel. CONCEPT Chronic arterial hypertension = sustained increase in the force of blood against the vessel wall Arteries (elastic structures) adapt to hemodynamic overload PATHOPHYSIOLOGICAL MECHANISM Continuous mechanical stress → endothelial injury (inner layer of the vessel) Endothelial dysfunction → reduced vasodilator nitric oxide Vascular smooth muscle proliferation + collagen deposition Result: • Thickening of the arterial wall • Reduced compliance (elasticity) • Increased vascular stiffness KEY PROCESS Vascular remodeling Progressive structural adaptation of the artery to elevated pressure HEMODYNAMIC IMPACT Rigid artery → reduced ability to expand → Increased peripheral resistance → Cardiac overload (especially left ventricle) SILENT PROGRESSION Slow and asymptomatic process By the time symptoms appear, damage may already be significant ASSOCIATED COMPLICATIONS • Coronary artery disease • Stroke (CVA) • Heart failure • Chronic kidney disease CLINICAL INSIGHT Hypertension does not begin as “blockage” — it begins as loss of vascular function Regular blood pressure monitoring is essential ✅Early intervention = prevention of irreversible structural damage . #health #hypertension #prevention #heart #insta

ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION (HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE) Simple Concept High blood pressure doesn’t block arteries first — it changes (remodels) them. ⸻ What is Hypertension? • It means blood is pushing too strongly against artery walls for a long time • Arteries are normally elastic (stretchy), but they try to adjust to this pressure ⸻ What Happens Inside the Artery? 1. Continuous high pressure → damage to inner lining (endothelium) 2. Damaged lining → less nitric oxide (important for relaxing vessels) 3. Vessel wall reacts → • Muscle layer thickens • Collagen increases (makes it stiff) ⸻ Final Changes in Artery • Wall becomes thicker • Artery becomes less elastic • Vessel becomes stiff 👉 This process is called Vascular Remodeling ⸻ Effect on Blood Flow • Stiff arteries cannot expand properly • This leads to: • Increased resistance • Heart has to work harder • Especially affects the left ventricle ⸻ Why It’s Dangerous • Happens slowly and silently • No symptoms at first • Damage is often already serious when detected ⸻ Possible Complications • Heart disease • Stroke • Heart failure • Kidney disease ⸻ Key Point to Remember 🧠 Hypertension starts with loss of vessel function, not blockage. ⸻ Clinical Tip • Check BP regularly • Early treatment can prevent permanent damage • #health #hypertension #prevention #heart #insta
