If your BGV (background verification) report is rejected since you are unable to provide salary slips as your ex-employer paid you in cash, you could do this: 1. Immediately connect with your ex-employer and request them to provide an email or mention on the company letterhead stating that you were receiving salary in hand (cash), and also ask them to provide the reason for it. Also, have them mention that there are no bank statements or salary slips provided by them. 2. Submit a self-declaration/affidavit stating the reason as to why you were receiving salary in cash. 3. If the company has directly deposited cash into your account, you should share the bank statement highlighting those specific deposits. 4. Always keep the new HR in the loop for such scenarios. Clearly state to them that you have an offer/appointment letter and a relieving letter, but no salary slips.
