1️⃣ MOCK INTERVIEW WITH THE COMPANY - Most people do not even know this is possible. What if I told you, you could literally do practice interviews with the company you’re about to interview with. - I have gotten practice interviews from Google, McKinsey, Microsoft and more…the key is leveraging alumni. - Filter on LinkedIn: Your School or Current Company + Location + Company (you’re interviewing at) + Role (you’re interviewing for). Then reach out over LinkedIn or Email. - My template: “Hi X! My name is Sean, I am a [student at X school] OR [currently at X company]. I have a first round at [insert company] for [insert role]. If you have capacity, I’d love to chat about your experience in the role and any interview tips.” —> convert this to a mock, school alum are especially willing to help. 2️⃣ COPY ANSWERS THAT WORK - I mean this quite literally. Copy the structure, the narratives, the storytelling style that already works for the industry + role you’re interviewing for, don’t try to reinvent the wheel. - Do this by watching YouTube videos on channels like Exponent and Rocketblocks. Then, copy the structure (not exact words). - Next level hack: do mock interviews with people who have landed the job before. Then ask them what worked for them then COPY it. - Even more next level: put all of your preparation into ChatGPT then ask it to help you practice. Since the information you give it is based on what already works, you get to practice with a “winning playbook”. 3️⃣ JOIN SECRET COMMUNITIES - Leverage secret communities on Slack and Discord for interview prep. Hear about what jobs are hiring, exchange interview information and schedule interview prep sessions. - IYKYK: some communities I have used are Lewis Lin Slack Channel, Product Haven, and Tech Interview Prep Discord. - These communities are honestly such a cheat code and so so helpful in prepping for interviews. If this was helpful, like and follow for more career tips and also see what’s beyond the 9 to 5! #interviewprep #interviewtips #interviewadvice #productmanagement #managementconsulting

As a PM for over three years I really don’t want to fall behind. I don’t know if I am already too late but it’s better to start today than regret it tomorrow :) Week 1 has been just learning the fundamentals of AI. This is everything I learnt this week: - AI vs ML vs Generative AI - How LLMs work - Prompt engineering vs context engineering - What is RAG - Agentic AI - Transformers - MCP I wanted to understand the context of each at a basic level before I jump into any product management related topics. Honestly the best resource out there is YouTube. I personally don’t buy any courses or read newsletter because it can be too overwhelming for a beginner but check out YouTube channels by Hello PM, Codebasics, Aakash Gupta & Gaurav Sen If you’re a beginner like me and what to know the exact video I watched DM me :) Also let me know what I should learn next and if you have any good simple resources. #ai #productmanagement #corporate

The higher you go, the less it’s about pure performance and the more it’s about visibility, politics, and narrative. It’s not evil. It’s not glamorous. It’s just a game. I’m not anti-ambition. I’m anti-romanticizing what’s at the top. If you’re climbing, just be clear on what you’re signing up for. #corporatereality #leadershiplife #careerclarity #productmanagement #corporatetea

Product work at a company like Zomato looks strategic from the outside, but once you are inside it is deeply operational. Every decision touches delivery partners, ops teams, support flows, city constraints, and cost structures all at once, and if you do not understand how the system actually runs, even a good idea can break quickly. 1. Being young in a product role adds another layer to this. Some teams are excited to collaborate, many are cautious, and a few will openly question your judgment. What worked for me was consistency. Showing up prepared, listening more than speaking, and closing loops over time builds trust in a way titles never do. 2. Operations are not a downstream concern in a logistics-led business. They shape the product itself. Spending time with ops changed how I thought about trade-offs, edge cases, and what users really optimise for, far more than any roadmap discussion could. 3. Speed also looks different on the inside. It is not about rushing or glorifying chaos. It is about doing what is necessary, keeping documentation lightweight and useful, aligning just enough, and moving forward. Over-explaining slows teams down more than under-documenting ever did. 4. A less obvious learning was how much stakeholder work is about rhythm. Being punctual, predictable, and clear in small things made collaboration smoother across teams. People plan better when they know how and when you show up. 5. Product, in practice, is less about sharp ideas and more about respect for people, systems, and time. That nuance is easy to miss until you are living inside it every day. . . . . 🧿 #product #productmanagement #zomato #career #growth

Don’t spend thousands on a product management training! I became a Product Manager in less than 6 months after I made the transition with ZERO tech background. And I took only ONE course before I got my first PM job. I’ve recommended this course to so many people over the years and they’ve landed PM roles too. Comment “Product Manager” and I’ll send you the exact course I took on @udemy.
