“Banditos” is a song by American band The Refreshments from their breakthrough album ‘Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy’ (1996). The rock radio hit was the lead single and 7th track of the album. Singer Roger Clyne said he came up with the idea for the song as a broke college student.
The single reached No. 14 on the US Billboard (@Billboard) Modern Rock Tracks chart.
The Refreshments were an alternative rock band from Tempe, Arizona (@TempeTourism). The group was known for its “Southwestern Sound,” similar to other bands hailing from Arizona such as The Sidewinders, Gin Blossoms (@GinBlossomsAZ) and The Meat Puppets (@PuppetsOfMeat). In 1998, Roger Clyne and drummer Paul “P.H.” Naffah renamed the group Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers (@RogerClyneAndThePeacemakers), and still perform most of The Refreshments songs live in concert
