Above the Schroeder frequency, this balance becomes especially critical, as absorption behaves very differently across upper bass, lower midrange, and high frequencies. If treatments are not properly modeled, rooms often become overly absorptive at higher frequencies while remaining uncontrolled in the lower midrange—one of the main reasons absorptive rooms are perceived as “dead” or unnatural.
