SEEnd Result included!🔥Another variation on my SUPERNOVA🥳“Frozen Pond“ combo with Deep Firebrick & Blue Rutile (namely without Chun Plum this time, compared to the linked reel from Jan. 25th 2026). Supernova is used here instead of the usual RHC (Running Hot Chowder), the latter being not so easily obtainable in some parts of the world. I’m pretty happy that the dots pattern is still distinctly visible, and that it didn’t just all flow into a puddle in the middle of the bowl 😅👍.
And the outside is just spectacular🤩, with the beautiful flowy structures in the dots, and all the glitter coming from Iron Lustre due to the drop&hold firing + slow-cooling! 🥳👍😍
Because I glazed both in- & outside with several coats, it was a bit too much for Supernova, so there are some pinholes on the inside (but on Celadons, Supernova is usually totally fine✅🙂). In a later version posted on February 2nd 2026, I was able to produce a bowl with this kind of combo that was virtually free of such issues, I believe thanks to an extended slow-cooling (from 1130°C (which is the 30-min-hold Temp.) down to 930°C within 160 min).

2x Deep Firebrick (PC-59),
1–2x Supernova (CO-6) sponge dots (middle row 2x),
2x Blue Rutile (PC-20) all over.
Outside:
2x Obsidian (C-1)
1–2x Supernova (CO-6) sponge dots (top row 2x),
2x Iron Lustre (PC-33) all over (2nd coat only on top 3/4).
On white, bisque-fired groggless clay (W from Sibelco).
🔥Fired to Cone 5.5 (top shelf), using a „drop & soak + slow cool“ program similar to „C5DHSC“ on digitalfire.com: Heated with 100°C/h til 650°C, 10 min hold, then with 150°C/h til 1100°C, no hold, followed by 60°C/h to 1185°C, 10 min hold, dropped quickly to 1130°C, 30 min hold, then cooled to 1000°C within 130 min.
