STILL blows my MIND!!!! 🤯 #RIPJMJ 🫡 ♻️ @barzandbeats Run-D.M.C. performing “It’s Like That” Live at the 25th of September, 1984 at the Capitol Theatre This song was part of Run-D.M.C.’s debut single and it was written by the rappers Run & D.M.C. along with their producer Larry Smith. The song doesn’t feature any samples as it was programmed on a Oberheim DMX synthesizer with vocal punctuations mixed in. Inspiration for the song struck when Run studied Kurtis Blow style of rapping and decided he too must tell stories in his raps in order to have a wider appeal. Upon completion, this was the song that convinced Russell Simmons to work with the group. The release of the song as a single marked the beginning of Run-D.M.C.’s career and it helped introduce a  new school of hip hop artists with a street image and an abrasive, minimalist sound that marked them out from their predecessors. #Music #RunDMC
