We’ve always used Command hooks and Command velcro strips, and we’ve only ever had one frame come down in our thousands of miles of RV travels! We love that they save us from putting holes in the walls, and they are easy to remove if you decide to do something different with your decor! Money saving hack… ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Do you collect travel stickers? Do you have a states map that gets a sticker with each new state visited? Do you want to be able to look back on those in 20 years and be able to remember your adventures? Do you realize that the stickers will fade and peel if you put them on the outside of your RV? And what if you get a new RV? So try this hack. Saves your stickers for future display and saves money in the long run. Directions: 1️⃣Purchase poster frames from store, mine are from Ikea but, Walmart or Hobby Lobby has them too. These frames are plastic frames with plexiglass. So lightweight and durable, perfect for RV’ers. 2️⃣Place poster board, color of your choice behind the plexiglass. 3️⃣Use 3M Velcro to attach to RV walls. 4️⃣Add stickers!! Our frames have been on display for almost 4️⃣ years, and over 25,000 miles of travels. But, the best part is that when the frame gets full, I can remove the plexiglass and put away and start all over again. I don’t have to worry about fading. I don’t have to worry about if we sell our RV all my stickers would be gone. I can keep them forever… if I choose to. I’m not judging anyone that puts their stickers on their RV. Just giving you an alternative, longer lasting option. ‼️ Cross winds while towing an RV can be very dangerous. ❌ This is another example of why riding in the back of a moving travel trailer or fifth wheel is never safe, even in states where it is legal. It’s really important to know the forecast when you are RV traveling.💯 📌 Besides regular weather apps we also use the Wind Finder app. While there is no hard and fast rule of what is too windy to drive/tow an RV, your safety has to be the number one priority. In our experience we have had some scary towing days with wind mph in the 30s with higher gusts. Over 40 mph is a no go for our family. It makes it too easy to lose control and just not worth it. We have tweaked travel plans to avoid high wind RV travel days. No one wants to spend money on unnecessary RV repairs. So here are 10 common mistakes to avoid in order to save yourself thousands of dollars! 👉🏻You’re going to want to save this! 1️⃣Not checking tire pressure before every trip. Over or under inflated tires can be a tragedy waiting to happen. 2️⃣Failing to research your route and follow an RV rated GPS. 3️⃣Not doing a pre-departure walk around. Leaving stuff behind or still attached to the campground hookups! 4️⃣Driving too fast. Slow down, travel days can be just adventurous as the destination. Arrive safely! 5️⃣Ignoring routine maintenance. Most are DIY but, some should be tackled by a professional. 6️⃣Not winterizing your water lines for storage. 7️⃣Not turning off the water supply or water pump when leaving the RV. 8️⃣Forgetting to torque your U-bolts. 9️⃣Leaving awnings out at night, when away or in high winds! 🔟Not following G.O.A.L. when arriving at a destination. Here’s what we found out The first thing we did when we sold our house was change our RV insurance coverage. There is a difference between recreational coverage for your RV and full-time RV insurance which is designed for people who live in their RV for more than six months out of the year. It offers broader and better protection you need when you are carrying your house with you as you travel the country. Things to consider as you shop for full-time RV insurance:  *What does it cover? Contents, liability, loss assessment, emergency hotel expenses. These are all things to ask about.. *Type of RV can affect the cost of insurance. Class A motor homes for example can have higher rates.
*Your driving record can definitely affect your rates *Rates range between $1000-$4000 a year based on the above. *Not all Insurance companies carry fulltime RV coverage. We use @progressive but here are a few other companies that do: Good Sam, the Hartford and Nationwide.
*We do an insurance review every spring on our RV and truck insurance to make sure we are getting the best deal for our $$
