During a restructuring there is chaos and opportunity. You can’t control the chaos, but you can position yourself for opportunities. Here are some ways to get the most out of the chaos. •Automate your own redundant work before someone else does. •Raise your hand for visibility, not just responsibility. •Over-communicate impact, not activity. •Speak in meetings like someone who belongs at the table. •Align directly with decision-makers — not just your manager. •Build real relationships. Not LinkedIn connections. #careeropportunities

Corporate reorgs have a funny way of expanding your role without expanding your salary. I remember one reorg when I was still in corporate. At that point I was already carrying more than many of my peers. I had more employees reporting to me, more products, and more divisions under my responsibility. Then the reorg happened. And somehow I ended up with even more. One of the biggest products in the company landed on my desk. It already had operational issues and people issues. If I’m being honest, I didn’t even want it. But when a reorg happens, it’s not optional. So I said yes. Because I assumed that if I was now carrying this much responsibility, it would help me get promoted. One of my favorite bosses once said something that stuck with me: "Doing good work just gets you more good work". Corporate rarely lies outright. It just lets you believe something is coming. Recently I heard someone describe corporate reorganizations as a kind of modern-day catfishing. And I immediately knew what they meant. If you’ve been through a few corporate reorgs, you probably already have a story like this. It's the same thing I see with so many of my clients. Women who did everything you were supposed to do to create a life of wealth, freedom + fulfillment. And what it feels like to one day wake up and realize that the exact dream you were taught to chase, is the same one that created a life that you feel trapped inside. Or the guilt that comes with knowing you have so much to be grateful for, and having no idea why then do you feel so unfulfilled. And the hardest part? Most women don’t have anywhere they can talk about this honestly. The people closest to them are the same people they have to downplay their success for. The same people they soften around. The same people they’ve learned not to take up space with. So they stay in the “in-between.” Successful on paper. Quietly disconnected in real life. This is the work I do. Your success isn't something to apologize for. You want more, and it's time that you gave yourself permission to go after it.

If your career has started to feel smaller lately... Fewer roles, fewer openings, fewer obvious next steps, you’re not imagining it🙃 Organizations aren’t “between cycles.” They’re operating differently. 👉 One simple way to protect your career right now? Stop being known only for how much you can handle and start being known for how you decide what matters. In leaner environments, judgment and clarity are harder to replace than pure output. That’s the shift most people miss. I break this down fully in a YouTube video and walk through what actually makes leaders layoff-resilient now. ⬇️ Comment RIF to watch the full video on YouTube. #careercoach #executivecoach #corporate #careergrowth #layoff

10 Ways to Know You’re Not the Problem at Work 1. The rules keep changing 2. Expectations aren’t written down 3. Feedback contradicts itself or is vague 4. Transparency stops at senior leadership 5. Decisions are explained after they’re made 6. You’re overloaded but told to “prioritize better” 7. Those that question things are considered “difficult” 8. You’re asked to stretch without support 9. Accountability only flows downward 10. Expectations increase while clarity decreases If you have these - RUN #corporatelife #careeradvice #corporate #burnout #highachievers

You’re burnt out from being brilliant in a role that keeps casting you as dependable. The real burnout didn’t come from the workload. It came when you realized they’re never going to see you right, no matter how well you perform. You don’t need to quit. You need to document. If corporate energy suddenly shifts… If meetings feel different… If scrutiny increases without warning… Pause. Before you resign, protect your leverage. There’s a strategic way to exit. And there’s an emotional way. Only one preserves your income, reputation, and negotiating power. Quit smart. The reason most career advice on leaving corporate feels shallow is not that the people giving it don't care. ⚠️ 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲'𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. "Should you take the leap?" assumes the only thing stopping you is courage. "Are you ready?" assumes readiness is a feeling that arrives on its own, rather than something you build deliberately through specific stages. "Is your job the right fit?" assumes the problem is the specific role, not the entire structure of corporate employment. None of these answers are entirely wrong. They're just built for someone at a different place in the journey than you. Someone who is still deciding whether they want out. 𝐘𝐨𝐮—𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐮𝐭—𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞. What you need isn't a push, a verdict or a personality assessment. What you need is a clear picture of exactly where you are in the transition out—and what career moves that specific place is actually inviting you to take. ❗️𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫. It's a journey with six distinct stages. And the right move depends entirely on which one you're in. That's what most career advice never tells you. And that's exactly what this quiz does. ✨ "𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐘𝐞𝐭?" 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝟓-𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐳 𝐈 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲. No more ready or unready. Right fit or wrong fit. ✅ But which of six distinct stages of transitioning out of corporate you're in ✅ and what career moves that stage is actually calling for right now. 👇 I left the quiz IN MY BIO for you. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟓. P.S. Two things can be true at the same time. You can like the work, respect your team, and appreciate what you’ve learned… and, still recognize that the role no longer matches your professional season. Leaving a job isn’t always about dissatisfaction or a toxic workplace. Sometimes it’s about alignment and moving toward what’s next. Mid-career decisions aren’t impulsive. They’re strategically informed. 👇🏾Have you ever left a role you actually liked? What helped you decide?

The most dangerous salary range in corporate isn’t the lowest. It’s often around $150k–$250k. Not because people in this range are struggling financially. But because it’s where the golden handcuffs start tightening. The mortgage is bigger. The lifestyle has expanded. The expectations are higher. And walking away from a toxic job suddenly feels much riskier. So people stay. Not because they want to. But because replacing that salary feels almost impossible. After 20+ years working in HR and leadership development, I’ve seen this pattern again and again. The higher someone climbs, the harder it can become to leave an unhealthy environment. If you’ve ever felt stuck in a role you know isn’t right for you… Comment CLARITY and I’ll send you my Career Clarity Diagnostic.

Manager: “It’s not in your job description, but…” This sentence has cost people years of unpaid labor. ❌ “I’ll handle it” ❌ Saying yes out of fear ❌ Hoping it leads to a raise later The goal isn’t to refuse work, it’s to protect your role, your time, and your pay. Say this instead ⬇️ ✨ If it’s a one-time task: “I’m open to helping. Can we align on priorities so my core responsibilities don’t fall behind?” ✨ If it’s becoming ongoing: “I’m happy to support. Can we talk about how this fits into my role long-term?” ✨ If it’s clearly higher-level work: “I’m open to taking this on. Can we discuss how this affects my role or compensation?” ✨ If you’re early in the role and nervous: “I’m willing to help while I’m ramping up. Can we revisit scope and expectations after a few months?” 💥 Why this works: You’re not saying no. You’re asking for clarity, boundaries, and fairness. That’s not attitude. That’s professionalism.
