FOBeen getting a TON of questions, so I made a jumping spider playlist on my profile & answered the questions below! ⬇️
1. Yes they bite, but it is very unlikely for them to bite humans unless they feel threatened OR if your hand smells like your last dinner.
2. It’s pretty hard to lose them. They stay in their cage unless you take them out to handle them, and at that point, all your attention has to be on them.
3. I bought her from @exotics.source
4. This is really common! Jumping spiders don’t look or move like the ones people are usually scared of. They’re small, have big eyes, and move more slowly and intentionally, so they feel less creepy.
5. Usually no. When you handle them they tend to stay on your hand or move around slowly, sometimes jumping to another spot. They are more curious than scared and usually only try to get away if they feel threatened.

Poor thing just hatched. Two bodies one head. Guess I’ll be making a trip to the vet in the morning. Sadly things like this can randomly happen when breeding reptiles. We can discuss more on palmstreet Thursday at 7 pm

UPDATE…..sadly the gecko died overnight on the first night. Little backstory. This gecko egg was twice as big as its clutchmates and from candeling I knew something was going on. I was assuming it was twins (I’ve had before). When the clutchmates egg hatched a few days before I cut this egg open assuming it was having problems (twins frequently do). In the video it literally hatched in my hand and explains why it’s wet. It also had some Pangea hatch in it (explaining the red, it wasn’t open sores). I wasn’t a expert on one headed with two bodies but I called and read all I could. The rarely survive (I had a two headed one body live for 8 months in a orevious post) and is mainly caused from congenital twins not separating correctly. Not inbreeding or genitics. I was also a vet tech for 20 years so was planning to take it to the vet for x rays etc but it passed overnight. It’s hard to@see in the video but it also had a bump in its head. Which could of been encelopathy. Why did I post it? I’m a small breeder (I have 2 full time real jobs) and I feel it important to@show the good, the bad and the ugly. Making the choice to breed anything should be done with vision, integrity and intention. I also know most full time breeder would not post or even comment afraid of backlash. I feel people should see it’s not always roses and you need to be prepaired. I knew I was going to get a lot of “expert” opinions and crazy judgemental people coming out of the woodwork and ya gave some good laughs. Some were downright ugly lol Most comments were supportive and for that I truely appreciate you all. I have a Palmstreet Thursday at 7 where I can show her (in freezer for now) and talk and auction some geckos. Thanks all for the support, and sorry but I could not answer every single text!
