I love repurposing pieces for my garden whenever I can. This little birdbath came together with a $1 plant stand and a $6 bowl from Goodwill-and the birds were immediately attracted to it. It was perfect. For the safety of the birds, the bowl should be no more than 2” deep. Afterward, I added a few sticks, corks, and rocks so the bees could safely land and enjoy it too. Creating habitat doesn’t have to be expensive-sometimes it just takes seeing the potential. New here? If you don’t trust the nail method, you can use my go-to diamond drill bits to make your drainage holes, which always works amazing too! I thrifted this so confidently thinking I could change the water and everything would be great… little did I know that it would turn into a lot of having no clue what I was doing and obstacles out of my control (like the rubber seal completely crumbling from old age).
