I’ve heard some wild ones… let’s set the record straight! 🚨 1️⃣ “Oh, your water bill must be so high” 💧 Truth: Modern cloth nappies barely add anything to your water use. Efficient & eco-friendly! Similar an extra person to your household and them regularly flushing the toilet. 2️⃣ “You must have to touch poo all the time” 🚽 Truth: There’s a few parts to this! 👶 Milk-only poo is water soluble, so these can go straight in the washing machine (or be rinsed off before washing) 🥝 Eating solids, drop solids straight in the toilet —no messy hands! 🧻 Or… our liners make this so easy, just toss them in the bin!! (And don’t worry, they’re biodegradable) 3️⃣ “They leak all the time” 🌟 Truth: The waterproof outer is designed to keep everything in! Being a second-time mum has changed how I use cloth nappies. The first time round I felt like I had to do it perfectly. This time I’m a lot more flexible. Some days we do them, some days we don't. I still love them for the environmental, financial and skin benefits. But I’m also more realistic about the extra washing, the learning curve, and the days when disposables are simply easier. Cloth nappies don’t have to be all or nothing. This is just the honest pros and cons from our house with baby number two. I’ll share more about how we actually use them this time round — what works, what doesn’t, and the small things that make it easier.
