A Remarkable Case of Reincarnation In the small town of Redwood Hollow, England, a family tragically lost their two young daughters, Emily and Grace, in a 1956 car accident. Two years later, in 1958, their mother gave birth to twin girls. Once the twins began to speak, they started revealing unsettlingly accurate details about the sisters they had never met. At just three years old, one twin pointed to a birthmark on her knee, claiming it was where the car had struck her in her previous life. The twins also asked for specific toys that had belonged to Emily and Grace, and correctly identified their sisters' preferred seating spots in the family car. The most compelling piece of evidence occurred when the family returned to their old village; the twins, who had never been there before, led the way to their old playground and described a faded chalk drawing that Grace had made just before her death, which had been washed away years prior. To this day, the people of Redwood Hollow believe that the twins are the reincarnations of Emily and Grace.

She Lived in a 1,000-Year-Old Tree to Save Redwoods #truestory #strongwomen #protectnature #history In 1997, Julia Butterfly Hill climbed a 1,000-year-old redwood tree named Luna and lived there for over two years to prevent it from being cut down. She stayed on a small platform high above the ground, relying on ropes, food, and water while facing many challenges. Her protest brought national attention to the logging of old-growth redwoods and highlighted the need to protect ancient forests. During her time in the tree, Julia maintained communication with supporters on the ground and continued her advocacy for forest conservation. Her dedication inspired new environmental movements and showed that peaceful, persistent action can make a significant impact. Hill’s efforts helped protect not only Luna but also raised awareness about the importance of preserving redwood forests for future generations.

I Turned a GIANT TREE TRUNK into a hidden bedroom 🪵! I hollowed out an 8-foot redwood trunk and turned it into a secret luxury bedroom hidden inside the wood. The President Tree is the oldest known living redwood tree on Earth estimated to be about 3,300 years old. It is also the second largest tree on the planet by volume (if branch volume is included with trunk volume). 🌲 Located in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park, this incredible giant stands about 247 feet tall with a massive base and an enormous crown that spreads high above the forest floor. The tree’s trunk alone has an estimated volume of about 45,000 cubic feet, and when its enormous branches are included, the total volume reaches over 54,000 cubic feet. The tree was named in 1923 in honor of Warren G. Harding - the 29th president of the United States, shortly after his death, which is how it became known as the President Tree. The President Tree is especially impressive because of its huge crown, which contains some of the largest branches of any tree on the planet - many as thick as typical trees themselves. Scientists estimate the tree holds billions of needles and thousands of cones, making it like a small ecosystem high above the forest floor. While the nearby General Sherman Tree is the largest tree by volume, the President Tree remains one of the most majestic and awe-inspiring sequoias you can see in the park. 🌲 ✨Follow @adventurechasingduo for incredible outdoor adventures! 🙌 . . . . . #sequoia #sequoianationalpark #sequoiatrees #giantsequoia

A heart-stopping moment was captured by a fixed wildlife monitoring camera in a dense, fog-covered redwood forest. The footage shows a wildlife researcher kneeling on the damp forest floor, meticulously taking measurements of a soil sample, completely unaware that a massive black bear is silently emerging from the thick ferns just ten feet behind him. Before the bear can close the distance, the researcher's loyal border collie, 'Skip,' leaps into action. Instead of barking and drawing the bear's aggression toward his master, the dog executes a brilliant tactical distraction. Skip sprints in a wide arc around the bear, nipping at its heels and darting back into the mist. Each time the bear turns to face the agile dog, Skip repositioned himself, successfully leading the confused predator nearly fifty yards away into a deep ravine. By the time the bear gave up the chase and retreated further into the woods, the researcher had stood up, alerted by the sudden movement, and safely reached his truck. Skip returned minutes later, tail wagging and completely unharmed. Experts are calling this a masterclass in canine defensive instinct. Fern Canyon is one of our top places to visit in #Redwood! Are you heading out to #FernCanyon? Make sure you are prepared. Fern Canyon is a beautiful spot in our park, but it can quickly become challenging without the proper gear. 🥾 Shoes: wear shoes you can get wet. Water is nearly unavoidable in the canyon, and it’s a lot more to explore with the proper footwear. 🚗 Car: we recommend a high clearance vehicle with 4-wheel drive. Davison Road is a narrow, gravel road that can form potholes from sitting water spots. There are also two stream crossing that you must drive-through to get to the Fern Canyon parking lot. ➡️ Reservations only required May 15-September 15: To visit Fern Canyon during our summer season, you must have a reservation. These are available through Redwood Parks Conservancy’s website (redwoodparksconservancy.org/fern-canyon). What’s your favorite Fern Canyon tip?

Here are 7 of my favorite redwood hikes in California. Here, you’ll find some of the oldest, tallest living things on Earth. 7️⃣ Tall Trees Grove (Redwood National & State Parks) Permit-required and absolutely worth it. A steep descent into a secluded grove with some of the tallest redwoods on Earth. Start early and bring water, the climb out is no joke. 6️⃣ Karl Knapp Trail (Prairie Creek Redwoods SP) Quiet, underrated, and incredibly peaceful. Fern-lined paths, massive old-growth trees, and a true “lost in time” feel. Best after rain when everything is glowing green. 5️⃣ Lady Bird Johnson Grove (Redwood National Park) An easy, family-friendly loop with huge payoff. Wide trails, towering redwoods, and interpretive signs that give helpful context without feeling like a museum. 4️⃣ Grove of Titans (Jedediah Smith Redwoods SP) Short, flat, and jaw-dropping. Boardwalks protect the fragile roots here. Be sure to stay on the trail. This is one of the densest collections of massive redwoods anywhere in the state. 3️⃣ Stout Grove (Jedediah Smith Redwoods SP) Classic old-growth redwoods right along the Smith River. Go early morning or near sunset for fewer crowds and better light. 2️⃣ Trillium Falls Trail (Redwood National Park) Redwoods and a waterfall. Best in winter and spring when the falls are flowing. A moderate loop with variety the entire way. 1️⃣ Montgomery Woods (near Ukiah) Coastal-scale redwoods without the coast. Massive, ancient trees tucked into a quiet inland canyon and far fewer people than the more famous parks. ⚠️ Comment BUCKET and I’ll send you my free California Bucket List guide filled with hikes, parks, and incredible views you won’t want to miss.

Wow! Rail biking through the redwoods never gets old! I’ve done it a few times now, and every time I say, “When can we go back?!” 😩 The railbikes have an electric motor! So don’t worry, you don’t have to pedal the whole time. If you want, you can just coast through the forest and soak it all in. 🛤️ This reel features the Rail Bikes on the Noyo excursion. A 25-mile round-trip ride through a lush redwood forest. Where you’ll see towering trees while gliding along the beautiful Noyo River. 🌲 Depending on the season, you can see waterfalls, native California newts, and banana slugs 😄 You’ll stop for about 45 minutes at Camp Noyo to enjoy a relaxed picnic that’s included with your ticket. Tickets are pricey, but it’s a magical experience you’ll never forget ☺️ Comment BIKE below, and I’ll send you a link that’ll give you an automatic 5% discount at checkout! 📍Skunk Train Railbikes, Fort Bragg.
