KNPOTA with the Icom IC-730…
Today I activated US-6942 Rhodes Pond State Game Land with the @icomamericainc for @parksontheairinc
The old radio did great, had a great sound and good signal reports. The only issue was the radio getting warm due to the fan not kicking in, will have to troubleshoot later.
Had (14) QSOs, all SSB on 20 meters using the @chameleonantenna MPAS 2.0 on a mag mount. Also used the #mfj 9201 QRP tuner which can actually handle 100 watts, make sure to tune at 5 watts. Though I used the @rig_expert_ukraine_ltd Stick analyzer to check SWR.
Checked into the Maritime Net on 14.300 and show a little recording of the receive audio on this radio.
All in all, it was fun getting an older radio out on POTA and loved having an analog meter to look at.
